I suppose. But they're just games and the people that rate them rate them harshly. Some games are rated Mature when I'd say they should be Teen at best.

Most of us probably have, like trying to play Doom without parents and you had nightmares for several weeks after. Today it's the other way around, I can find pleasure from games that a 5 year old might be able to complete.

Well, every game for my 360 was M except Blue Dragon when I first got it, which was before I was 17. I still play Pokemon, as it is completely ageless, regardless of what haters say.

Being an older gamer, all games are my age. I am, however, raising a 2nd generation gamer son who is 4. I actually pay attention to the rating somewhat and try to limit the amount of blood and gore he is exposed to. I wasnt really concerned until a new family moved in next door. They have a sone a year older then mine and he watches his dad play everything and it impacts him.An example would be with God of War 3. I was over there while he was playing the game and his sone became increasingly agitated and violent while he watched us play. It was rather interesting and frightening to watch.Since then i try to keep my son in the E games with the occasional T only if he plays with me. In a few years we will see. I think a lot of the ratings are bogus and you really need to judge each game separately. Not enough parents do that. There is something weird about playing Resident Evil 5 on Xbox Live at 2am and having a 7yr old join you though....

I play those Halo games much like everyone else despite the age limitation. It is not as bloody as Gears of War or those other M rated games. However, Adult Only games are taboo for me because I really don't like those kind of games with... scary... real life action, or so I have been told.

I turned 18 long before video games were rated so it's never been a problem for me in that sense. However I do play games now that are supposedly made for kids. I don't really care though, if I find something enjoyable then I'll give it a go. Why miss out on something fun just because of your age, especially when I don't feel as old as I am :channel:

Yes, because I think after 12 years do not have to censor a game, considering that in today's world young people have become accustomed to swearing, violence and anything else that might appear in a videogame. And parents who have to care for the child not to play games of improper attitudes.
