It might be the most famous rpg in the world but I'd say that it is far from being the best.
Working on Knights in the Nightmare. Going to get around to Rondo of Swords. Hoping to find inspiration for Etrian.

Are you serious!? No way! Fainal Fantasy or Legend of Zelda are easily 100 times better than pokemon. The idea of pokemon being the most famous is stupid; its the same thing on every single game

are you talking about for consoles or for computers? there are so many different ones for each, it's hard to really choose. besides, there are so many opinions that you will never reach a general consensus on what is actually a great one.keep in mind as well, it's not which game is BETTER, it's which game is MORE FAMOUS. there is a difference.

I do think its the most famous. the marketing behind the corporation is massive. they have thousands of merchandise and are known by almost every little kid

This is getting a bit repetitive...there IS a difference between being known and being liked aka being famous and being the best. Pokemon is by far the most known/famous rpg. Everyone knows Pokemon reguardless of how many people branch Role-playing chatrooms or cosplay off of Final Fantasy *cough* Master_SL *cough*. Whether they like Pokemon or they don't like it, Pokemon has the most recognition...like many people have said...find someone who doesn't know what a pikachu is. But for the record Final Fantasy rapes Pokemon hands down in being the best game between the two.

Most famous? I don't know about that. It certainly sold well, but what games has it influenced since it's release? I'm gonna have to agree with the Final Fantasy votes. Amazing games, and an indelible part of the evolution of the RPG, right up there with Zelda's influence on the action RPG.

pokemon has to be the most popular because its suited for all age groups so everyone plays it or talks about it. if it weren't then why did it have series, movies, card games, action figures and so many sequals

you people are nuts! Pokemon is the most famous card game, not RPG.chrono trigger was good, not famous; because the sequel was ****.Final Fantasy is only famous because people are morons. seriously, that game blows hard.GOOD AND FAMOUS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!
