Well you do have a point... but think back, the main character is always gonna win in the end as we all know. It's only the process in the anime; that we really are wanting to watch and find out how they solve each problem/ overcome obstacles. Like Detective Conan for example, When do you ever see him not solve a case? Or your example, Rurouni Kenshin(One of my favourite!), when does he ever "really" loses to anyone(Hiko Seijirou probably...)? From your point of view you are sort of saying "He beats his opponent in end anyway, so why bother watching it?". We all know that, but we are all interested in HOW he does it, the process is always different e.g. Kenshin goes looking for his Master to teach him his ultimate Sword Tech and in the process things happens. Same goes for Detective Conan, although he ultimately solves the case, but HOW he does is what we as audience cares; he finds little clues, picks up contradicting testemonies from others etc... Well I mean, inexpectable endings/consequences are good but it isn't the main thing that most of us are looking."Overpowered" characters. Honestly, Ichigo from Bleach came to mind (if you don't count the fillers) because of his so-called amazing gains. At some point I was like, c'mon... don't you think he's getting a bit TOO strong now? This obviously doesn't count for the recent stuff though those that know what I mean.Characters that never lose. OK, it's acceptable to have the protagonist win after a tough tough battle, but some anime do not flesh this out enough. Rurouni Kenshin (through the Shishio arc) is a good example of a character with godly skills still having problems, even more if you count the manga arc following that. It shows that he as a character has major flaws. Prince of Tennis - doesn't always have the predictable ending for every match. An anime I was watching that I enjoyed about halfway through is Tsukikage Ran. Tsukikage Ran is a wandering swordswoman whose skill is apparently unmatched... but even though the results are predictable I don't feel so satisfied watching how she got there. Animation that is not aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. I won't lie and say I haven't completely stopped watching a series because I just didn't like the animation... but I'll give it a chance. Maybe I'll go back to it. But if it puts me off, it's pretty hard to get back to.

????? so tacosYeahso...What ruins an anime for you?I think for me it'd have to be mega fillers. Or if the plot seems to drag out.I also don't like if the art style isn't nice looking.
