Marriage seems to be losing its relevance these days and I don't have strong views on marriage related issues, but meh, if they want to be married whats the problem? Its all down to our present culture, a century ago things that are commonplace now were unthinkable e.g. women being able to vote. A century in the future I wouldn't bet against gay marriage being legal everywhere and hardly causing anyone to raise an eyebrow.

I'm a male, so i think gays SHOULD NOT have the right to marry, it's disgusting seeing two men hugging each other, and kissing?! We're doomed! But i support lesbian marriage...We need some girls to involve in this thing, i want to know whether they support their own kind marriage or not...

What's all this about "protecting the sanctimony of marriage"? Marriage used to be business between the parents of the people getting married. It was pure financial motivation. Now we like to say that marriage is based on love, but can we devalue love that is different from ours? Any love, whether it's shared between homosexuals or heterosexuals, should be recognized as valid by the state.By the by, we're overpopulating the globe anyway. Any couple fit for adoption, a couple that could provide a good home, regardless of the sexual orientation of the parents, would be great. (And yes, I am referring to Rosie O'Donnell's attempts to adopt.)

They should be able to be married if they want. I can't stand to see how the "morals" of America are so christian based. They just seem to discriminate against many people.

I honestly don't care if they get marriage or civil unions, as long as they get one of them. I think the important thing is that they get all the rights and what not. Anything else is just a name.

Depends, I'm a Christian and heard something about the bible about two cities got messed up (Destroyed by god) because of same gender thing. I bet that kind of marriage will be in vain but I don't really know...Please don't take this the wrong way...

I don't see why not, if it makes them happy, then heck let them marry each other, who are we to say they cant. They arent hurting anyone, plus the earth is already overpopulated enough, just a few couple not reproducing won't hurt it.

Basically if it's a religious marriage, it's up to the religion. But when it comes to civil marriages, yes it should be allowed. There's a difference between religious marriage and a civil one.

of course it should. marriage is not about the ability to reproduce as some people think. marriage is about a union of love between two people, and having that love recognised.

Of course gays should be allowed to marry, and have their union called a marriage. What right is it of anyone to tell two people in love that they cannot marry, simply because of their sexual orientation?

I'm very surprised to read that (at this moment) 61% say "yes". I thought it should be less, because ther are not that much people on this forum who are Dutch. Holland was the first country were gay marriage was possible. In a lott of other counties it's still a problem. I'm Dutch, and here in Holland (nearly)everyone think it's very normal to be gay.

If what you said above is true then America is apparently the opposite =PI've read most of the posts in this forum and apparently everyone who is against it is being backed up by the bible or some pointless reason.YES gays should be allowed to marry each other because if you love someone you should have the right to be with them.I don't see why gov't,religion, prejudice, ect should have a say in how you chose to love a person.

hm, in my opinion, they can do whatever they want to, i just don't want to be hit on thats all. i remember a quote "if you don't like gay people, don't marry one and shut the f*** up". i stand by that quote, if you don't like them, just leave em alone and let em do their own thing and go on with your own life.

I voted OTHER, because I'm an Atheist and gay or straight Marriage is a Religious matter. But I don't want the government to force a law upon anyones religion on either side of this.

Of course gay marriage should be legalized. I mean understandably so people think that people become homosexual when they have low self-esteem and think that they can't find a person of the opposite sex who is interested. You know maybe that is the case for some people but, not the popular case. We see male and female, the heart doesn't. The heart isn't sexist, it chooses who it see's fit whether that be male or female. Marriage is a symbol of the love that two hearts together have grown. If a man and a woman can put a ring on that finger and say ""will you marry me?" as a symbol of spending the rest of their lives together. Why should homosexuals have any less? Think of it from my perspective. =// I'm a homosexual and some of the things I've read offended me so much. Well but if I knew those ppl personally they would get dropped, i would go straight up, harlem ghetto on them. But besides the point. People need to open their minds. It's called ignorance when people try to tear apart what they don't understand.

Sorry to say this, I disagree to gay marriage.... If it's a marriage between a gay and a guy.... but if the marriage is between a gay and a lesbian, it's fine.

well I don't really kno I am not supporting it & if they wanna get married more power to them but don't make it like the marriage statistics that already exist............do somethin right stay married......if your not or even if your not 100% sure on it then don't do it........cause what if 1 day during the marriage you get that glimmer of a thought of bein streight again....................what then huhh

I'm not gay, but I think it's fair that gay people should not be discriminated just cause they're gay. I mean, who cares?

If gays want to get married then they should be able to do that. I'm also Dutch and even though we still have gay bashing in this country (it's impossible to get rid of all the jerks), I'm still glad that I live in a relativly gay friendly country.
