I have to say, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. It's soo hard that i died fighting the first mobs in the game 3times in a row. you need a strategy for each mob you fight..if you think it's easy, rent it and try it. 4disk long too.

i honestly don't know what the hardest PS RPG game is... the only RPG games that i have played are the FF series. i find these games really hard cos you have to constantly fight to gain experience points to build up your stats. And all the secrets in the games that you don't know of that could help you through the game easily!!

My answer to this depends on whether you're considering challenges or not.If challenges are a factor, FF7 has to win, just because people love the game so much that they've spent way too much time thinking of incredibly difficult restrictions to place on yourself, then proving that the game can still be beaten with those restrictions in place. However, without challenges, I'd have to say Legend of Dragoon. Anyone who's ever watched Linus slaughter an entire party of dragoons without giving you a turn will understand where I'm coming from.

I think final fantasy 8 was hard and it didnt help the difficulty by being four discs long either

I never played a lot of RPGs for PS1. I guess the hardest and only one would be Final Fantasy VII.

Valkyrie Profile on easy. It's simple on hard, though, 'cause you can get the good equipment.Little ironic, acctually.

Beyond the Beyond, from the makers of Golden Sun. That game had an insane encounter rate. And death spells from what I remember. Instant death before you can even move. Huzzah!I thought Legend of Dragoon was harder because of the stupid hitting the button combos. I was amazed that I played that game until the very end.Thousand Arms was difficult at time do to how much damage enemies would do, and there was no way to re-orient the stupid angle of the camera. I got lost in that game so many times, I'd say a good portion of the playtime was just trying to remember which way I was going. Grandia had some pretty unforgiving dungeons towards the end, that just kept going on and on.Persona was a challenge more for having to sit through the stupid loading screens, FOR EVERY LITTLE SINGLE THING. It was interesting to find out that those screens didn't exist in the Japanese version (I guess they took all the extra content of the game out in order to put those stupid loading screens in).The original Legacy of Kain was pretty tough. I don't think I could have beat it if it wasn't for the cheat codes.I agree about the Valkyrie Profile comment. Easy was tough, and hard ended up being a breeze.

i agree with the first post, Lunar 2 was pretty tough in the beginning, but once you get towards the end of the game, you're able to get all the good equipment which made the game much easier. still though, the last boss was a pain in the butt.

SaGa Frontier II by such a huge margin. Even fully levelled, I've never beat the final boss.

Alot of people ITT say that FF7 was hard, and it really wasn't. It was one of the easiest games I've ever played tbh. Try beating it at lv40 with no attack materia throughout the game, then it gets a little more interesting. The hardest one I've played was FF8 because I hated the game so it made playing it when I was really bored almost worse than doing nothing.

FF8 is one of the easier FF's if you know how to use the junction system properly. Both Lunars were pretty challenging so I'd vote for Lunar 2.
