Fighting games will always lack the element that movies have of choreography. It is impossible for a fighting game to have the finesse of dodging moves and move at a fast pace.

Super Smash Bro. Meelee to GC is a great fighting game, and it is really humourus too ^^ I love to jump around as Link, killing pikachu over and over again. I have no idea why, but it kind gives me a kick :( I also like Soulcalibur to GC, but I do not own the game myself, so I can't play it very often.

Most fighting games are stupid and lack any use of intelligence just pressing this button and then that button really quickly

Ofcourse you can play that way, but that isn't much fun. Atleast not in the long run. It's not getting fun until you learn to do combos, and manage to use them at the right time. Also, it is quite fun to master the ability to block attacks. Sure, you can just hold block until you attack yourself, but your opponent will always have a chance to hit you some way. But when you can block almost every attack before they hit you in a few milliseconds, then you get the feeling of real control :(

As for me, I enjoy some fighting games, but usually it has more to do if characters are easily likable or are recognizable.Simple systems keep my attention for a while, but once I get used to seeing all the characters do the exact same thing, I tend to ditch the game.Basically, I don't care what system a fighting game is on, so long as it has some good characters and some sort of slightly complicated fighting system.

On the GBA, most are cookie-cutter... on consoles, however, ah. There would be a marked improvement.

I was and am the greatest at Fighting game but to be honest i never liked them and i was wondering if anyone else felt the same becuz i think there all the same just with slight differences in move but even the button are the same.

I don't think so! The "street fighter" series is totally different with the "king of fighter" series. The combo system make KOF become more popular game, but I can never master it.

Fighting games are great if you can actually play them, except there will always be someone better than you.

Well, it depends on the fightin' game I guess. Like, if it's Super Smash Brothers Melee / Brawl, I love 'em!!! Can't get enough of 'em!!! If it's Naruto Accel 2 [ Shippuden ], I love it too!! But if it's Tekken / Soul Caliber, yeah, I play 'em but I don't love 'em as much as I love the other 3...

I really think all fighting games evolved from 3 major series; Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Virtua Fighter (which was the first 3d fighter) From Street Fighter people got the ideas for the X-Men/Marvel fighting games, Fatal Fury, Samurai Showdown, and most of the 2d fighters for that matter. From MK things like War Gods and (forgets the title of it) the one where it was a bloody fighter based on time travel where you could hack limbs off of people disabling some of your moves not to mention have a one shot kill by chopping off someone's head and even Killer Instinct got it's idea for finishing moves from MK. From Virtua Fighter, came Tekken and Soul Calibur. After a while of fighting games being put out onto the market they begin to all look like carbon copies of those basic ones. I LOVE MY FIGHTING GAMES! I enjoy them for the variety of characters and I'm really drooling over the upcoming MK Vs. DC Universe! OMG! However, there's only so much one can play them before they become stale. They're only really good for stress relief and killing short periods of time when you don't have the time to get into something more involved like a good RPG or strategy game.

Fighting games are some of the best around because they are more fun to play with human opponents.
