I personally love the pokemon games, even though i'm not a big fan of the whole thing (I used to be)... they've got awesome gameplay, and wicked storytelling... anyone who don't like it should reconsider!Is it just because of which sounds cooler or something more in depth?

the people usually buy the one that sounds cooler cuz most people are well ... not intelligent lol

a lot of times it depends on the way the Legendaries look, other times, its what sounds cooler, (Firered is often considered cooler than leafgreen) and third of all, most people just choose what color they light better

Version exclusive pokemon, at least thats what I thought was the primary reason behind it. I mean like with Diamond/Pearl the majority perfer the Diamond version exclusive legendary so they're going with that.

yea, i thnk its mostly what version sounds/looks cooler. sometimes its to do with the exclusives, but most ppl arnt that smart to look into it that deep.personally i go with the version not picked, like pearl. this way there are way more diamond users to trade with, there will be less pearl exclusive pokés out on the net compared to diamond's and thus pearl pokés are worth more/have higher demand

i got yellow red blue green gold and silver havent really played green much sinces its in japanessoh yeah oh yeah on yellow you can do the glitch like you can on red green and blue soo yellow sucks altho its diffrent cuz pikachu follows you unlike red blue or green

i believe it's mostly to do with the cover, though it's never representative of the differences in the game. i.e. the blue cover has blastoise, while the red has charlizard, but you can get both pokemons in either version. kids (the main target audience) probably go after the pokemon on the cover they like best.

its just that the amount of pokemon that you can catch. also i dont think that i know any of my friends liking the color green.

I chose red when pokemon first came around, it just had better pokemon. I've lost touch with my pokemon roots, though I assume they still put on;y certain pokemon in one game, and certain in another.

i know for there is a slight difference, like in silver and gold, i liked the gold version better cause you get the level 40 lugia.

I'd agree with Aschen that most people just go with the version that sounds/looks or has the exclusive that sounds/looks cooler.Personally, I just try to get the version with what Pokemon will benefit my team more. If there's a good insect type in one that I need, then I'll most likely go with that one. In the end, you can trade between versions anyway, so what version people get just becomes important towards trading.

Depends on which Pokemon are available in each version ... sometimes you beat one and then buy another version of the game..

I pick the colour I like the best or which one sounds better. So far I have got Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Emerald and leafgreen. I will be getting diamond.

I picked pokemon red when I had a gameboy pocket only because my gameboy was red

Its just peoples opinions.digital imagers use different colors on the boxes.Like diamond was Dark Blue color. And i bet that looked more appealing to boys,but pearl was a pink color, and when some people looked at that, they were like, that one looks to girly.Its just peoples opinions i guess
