The pokemon games have long playability and are interesting and you can make it different every time you play

Yeah... I think it's 'cause they just go for the one with the more colorful box art or title. Like how my cousin went to buy Diamond over Pearl 'cause he said diamonds look cooler, :D.

Some people probably base it solely on the cover, but each game has different pokemon in it. Like you can get some in each game that you can't get in the other.

I honestly have no idea. My friends are those kind of people. I figured it was just because they kept introducing new pokemon.

i'd pick because of the pokemon available. The color choices available may have a small impact, and the cover pokemon can impress some. I bought red and blue in a pair, gold and silver in a pair, saphire then ruby when saph flew out the window. I got FireRed as a gift. I do not show preferenial treatment, however, between diamond and pearl, dialga would be who i'd want. Also, the pokemon exclusive to that pack appeal to me. I'm also turned off by the pink tone of pearl, and it's womanly connotation. If i can get both I would, but it's only this version that i'd show preference. That being said, i'd choose blue version cause it had arcainine, and silver for scarmory and lugia early.

Probably because people think the other game is cooler than the other. They think the story and Pokemon in that game is really greater and better than the other. Or maybe because they like the Pokemon in one game than in the other. Personally, I don't care what version of the Pokemon. They all rule and are overall great games.

Each game has different values and such that a player might want, the biggest being different pokemon to catch, and smaller things like legendaries.

Which Ever game they heard of first. For me it was like Pokemon emerald, Pokemon leaf green. I didn't even know about fire red and the R/S games till a while before i joined. Then Diamond, Whoever would choose a pearl over a diamond eh? And Diamond is alphabetically first so when you talk about the games it Diamond and Pearl and not Pearl and Diamond so people go for diamond

I think that this is all matter of opinion because truly most games are similar except for the occasional pokemon differences for each version. So it is all your own opinion whether you want this pokemon or that one. So people even get all of them just to complete the pokedex ;)

Well the entire purpose of them was that u cant catch all hte pokemon with just one game u needed to trade with your friends or buy the other version but I think it just turned out to which one people thought were cooler looking in the end.

To me it seems like people always pick the version with the "cooler" legendary. Like with Ruby and Sapphire all of my friends thought Groudon was awesome so they all got Ruby, whereas I got Sapphire to be different lol
