Diablo 2 has better quests, more and better character classes and is more interesting in general. Be sure to get the expansion as well because the extra classes are really cool.

Diablo II + LoD... But recently I've been playing Hellgate: London instead. It's really a FPS clone of D2, honestly.

hey sup definetly choose diablo 2 its alot better and if u do get it go for the battlechest u get the lord of destrction expansion aswel but if u want to wait a few months to a year 3s being made right now

Diablo 2 is far superior. Diablo 1 was a blast, don't get me wrong, but allowing every class to share the same set of spells removed most of what made them all unique.

D2... I still play D1 from time to time though, but the graphics in D1 is way too crappy (D2 graphics isn't THAT great, but still, the variety among classes makes it more enjoyable.
However, note that in higher levels and difficulties (especially Hell difficulty) there are rare equipments that will allow you to use spells which are usually not available for your class (e.g. a barbarian getting to summon a golem which usually only a necromancer could).Diablo 2 is far superior. Diablo II is better anyday. Better interface, better gameplay and improved fighting make it a very good game.

D2, unquestionably, because of the skill tree. It's also not as restrictive as WoW's - there are many more viable builds available from it.It's also influenced pretty much every ARPG to come since, and defined the genre for years. Really, everyone should play it, just because it's a classic.

Diablo 2 is the better game. If you get the expansion with it, you'll get more options for your character, more items as well.

Diablo II, i found Diablo I very lame, and D2 have more playability, its more fun and more variable. D1 is like going down forever killing the same mosnter over and over.

diablo 2 is better in terms of story, character selection and customising the character. but diablo 1 has random quest and every hero plays more fairly and balanced then diablo 2 (thats my thoughts)

Of course Diablo II. Is in every single point better than the first one. But of course both games are good... maybe the best for PC
