D2 is better altho if u ever go online... it sux, yeah if u have a friend u can reach lvl 90 is a couple of hrs but items...

I wouldn't say one is 'better' than the other one, they are both great games. Hellfire is a cool expansion of Diablo, you walk a bit faster than in the original Diablo and you get a new class. I'd pick up the Battle Chest set that you can get at Wal-Mart, Staples, etc. Its usually 39.99 and it comes with D1, D2, D2-LOD, and a strat guide (made for v1.07 of LOD).

For me diablo 1 is better for 2 reasons and of course 1 reason is not gameplay ;)The 2 reasons are:1) The story is way better and more scary compared with the story of diablo 2...it's kind of more mystic2) The gothic mood, Diablo 2 has a lack of it

I have been playing Diablo 2 ever since it came out so i would definatly recommend it to u. It OWNS!!!!!!!! especially Diablo 3 coming out soon !!!

iv been playing diablo 2 over and over again and it never gets old its dam good but i havent really had a chance to play diablo...the last time i played it was when i was 7 or 8 or something lol i wanna play it cause it seems so cool in my memories

this is a toughy, im going to have to plead neutral on this one. for a few reasons. ive played both about the same amount of time (very very large amounts of time, when both first came out)Diablo2 is better in general story, gameplay, etc but it was too story / quest driven. the game forces u to go through a bunch of hoops in order to advance. there is the same old fashioned battlenet funness, but u mostly play with other people to go through the story, which u dont really need help with, and adding more people to the game makes it harder, at some points almost too hard.plus u get limited skill points to pick things, nothing aggravated me more to save all my points for an upper skill only to find out it was horrible, or that a lower skill that u thought at a high number helped, didnt. i think there was alot of level limitations too, didnt like that much.Diablo1 was shorter and had less classes, but u learned skills from books which were commonly found and everyone could learn something. also, there was actual pvp in D1. in D2, when u enabled PK, it tells the person ur going to attack them, which kind of defeats the purpose of "competition", leading to a PK system thats almost never used.i think after my ramblings ive already decided what i liked more, Diablo 1. a good classic never dies.also, the PS1 D1 was pretty badass.

IMO, D2 is much better in terms of gameplay. It doesn't have much 'story' to it, the game basically revolves around rushing, leveling, MF'ing and being a god(LoD). It's more like a community game..D1 has more of that Diablo 'feel' as it was meant to be. You'll be much more involved in the story, uncovering tomes/books that would add spice to the story. D1's environment and setting is much better than that of D2 (which seriously lacks that 'feel').I just hope D3 fixes 'it' and eliminate the bunch of crap they add in D2 expansion.

i have only played D2 but reading your posts and also reading the background story of D1 on several sites, i would still prefer D2 more than D1.

Diablo 2 man its way better. Make sure you get the Lord of destruction version.You can probally get the battle chest set for about 25-30 dollars. It includes diablo 1 diablo 2 and diablo 2 lord of destruction.when you get online get on U.S. West or U.S. East and look me up my account name is Traith_AOA and i have several more.I wil go ahead and bug rush you and drop you allot of free gear to get you started.I play on both east and west so you will find me on there. Diablo 2 is better becaus of the graphics,sounds and new equipment,and if combined with the LOD patch the gameplay will be phanthastic

Diablo 2 is much much better, diablo 1 is just... diablo 1...If you are interested in playing Diablo 1, DO NOT PLAY DIABLO 2 FIRST! it will RUIN diablo 1 for you.
