well, i personally like diablo 1, but if you have windows vista, FATE is (to me) better.

Diablo 2 is better but it was made latter so thats a no brainer but still with the Lord of Destruction expansion its a better game but you can get both with the battle chest so

Diablo as a series is great the first one was epic and I have played many times (one of the few games I played till the end more then once) Diablo is different it is bigger, but not funner I still enjoyed it but not as much as the first time I played Diablo I personally can't wait for the 3rd installment to come out that is the game to watch

I like both of them for different reasons, but I think that D2 is better and improved on the first Diablo over all.

Diablo II is way better but i agree with everyone else get the LoD expansion it gives more of a story and i think it gives extra charecters

Diablo 2 through and through, with LOD it is even more godly than it already was, buy it, play it, love it.

Diablo 2 is basically the evolution of Diablo. It did everything that Diablo did better. Well, almost everything. I felt that Diablo 2 lost the dark and sinister feeling that Diablo had. This was mainly from the stage designs. I really did not like fighting in the open fields, it felt like they were just placed there to waste time, especially the desert stage. That is the only aspect that Diablo had that was better than Diablo 2, being an actual DUNGEON crawling game.

Just get Diablo II and its expansion, Lord Of Destruction. People still play this game online.

D2, has LOD expansion, and soooo many mods, pic a couple, and sleep happy my friend, with d2 you cant go wrong

DIABLO 2 Lord of destruction is the one you want, i recomend just getting the battle chest set because you have to have the orignal diablo 2 to install lord of destruction because it is the expansion pack. When you get online it will have to install a patch which will take a long time depending on your internet service provider (aol sucks by the way just had to say that). When you do get on i have a couple bots running 24-7 on east and west realms. Send me a shout sometime though my account name for both realms is Xx_Traith_xX, see ya on there and I'll give further instructions from there.can anyone tell me which is better so I can buy it and play it!!!!

How has this game aged? Thinking of getting this but, not sure if I would still enjoy it during this time. Tried it once, but found it buggy, might run better now with the patches.

I played the Diablo series because of its dark fantasy feel, but D2 lost that and I regard D1 to be more eerie. If you're new to the series, I'd suggest start at D1 to pick up the story then go do D2 and LOD.

2 definitely. It had alot more to do, and alot more items... More abilities, more classes, more everything. Overall just a much better game.

Diablo 2 is much more better. You should play Diablo 1 too to continue the story on 2. Diablo 2 is much more better LOD, so you should probably get the expansion as well. Diablo 2 has more characters and classes and much more weapons.
