You get a star on your trainer card and when you go to see game freak, he gives you a diploma just like in previous Pokemon games and it says... this has been certified to (whatever your name is) for completing the Pokedex and when you see prof Oak he says x pokemon seen and x caught congratulations your Pokedex is complete.

I've got a complete dex in gold, crystal and sapphire, and I need about 12 more in leaf; (without cheating). I haven't figured out how I'm going to get Mew, though.

I havent finished it because i got bored but my small bro did complete them in every game execpt ruby and saphire. He is almost done the one in leaf green.

in fire red jap version all you have to do is collect about 100 then oak fills the rest up for you.why they took that out for US version i dont know...

i completed it on blue and after i saw what the reward was i didn't feel completing it on others cuz you practically don't get a thing

That's just what happened to me. I wasted a lot of time catching, raising and trading pokemon in the blue version just to obtain a crappy diploma. After that i hadn't even tried to complete it in any version. I just catch what i need in each moment.i completed it on blue and after i saw what the reward was i didn't feel completing it on others cuz you practically don't get a thing

i completed everything in blue red yellow. (except for mew) and i did it without cheats. and i was like 10 away in ruby and 20 away in pokemon FR.

I did it in Red/Blue and Fire/Red (j/k Fire/Leaf) Pretty time consuming, but it's worth it, because now you can say 'I CAUGHT THEM ALL!!'

Once on the old games I nearly had them all but lost my only shot at getting Kabuto to a link cable trade trick where I turned off the wrong machine.After that I lost the will to go through it all over again.

I was only needed Mew and a Arcaine in Red Version. In the gold, I completed it without doing that clonig code.
