I am pretty sure mine was ghost and goblins for Sega genesis or I could have been on of the metal gears for nes but the game that I beat that I am the most proud of is metal gear 1 for ps1 it was my first ps1 game.

I think it was something scary... I think it was Clock tower 2, My brother was the one who started it, and he said he doesn't want to continue it anymore so he gave it to me, He left it when this little girl was on a killing rampage, Man, I hate that girl, It still haunts me though... That was on Ps1I think I was around 5-7 :P

The first one....I think it must have been Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on the Commodore 64...followed by Zork I and II.Actual with-graphics games..the first one I beat was Super M. 1, I think...but I wonder when the first games came out that were actually 'beatable'. As I recall, most of the early videogames were neverending score-fests. Even adventure-themed games like pitfall, you got to a certain point and the game looped ad infinitum (which was the name of another good shooter, IIRC). Colecovision's Venture comes to mind, or Gateway to Apshai (which is also great on a good Colecovision emu...good for nostalgia.)I have never beat a game since Final Fantasy III (US)...I bought the SNES just for that game, and when it came out, it cost more than the SNES, or right around the same price.-TAQ-

[addendum]And wow, you all must feel young after that. XD-TAQ- a.k.a. Yoda's FatherSeriously, my first game was on 8" floppy disk...and I had many others on cassette-tape. Like Raid on Bungeling Bay, also for the C64. Damn thing took literally 20 minutes to load. >load "game">PRESS PLAY ON TAPE>loading_I cannot remember if any games used both sides of the tape.-TAQ- a.k.a. Yoda's Granpappy

Amazing how many mentioned S.M.B.3, what a revolutionary game, and to have hooked so many people. That game was $70US in some places. I still don't think there's a NES game that comes close to that level of quality.
