I saved up whatever I received. Loose change, my checks (not all of it)--anything I found, I invested some of it into a PS3. It took me almost a year, but I managed to buy a PS3. However, it would be a week before I bought a game for it. That's how expensive it was!

Traded my Generation 2 xbox for it >.> <.< Then just used income tax money to buy the new xbox. So I guess you could say ripped someone off for it.

Saving up, though to be honest I'm late to the party. I bought one of the cheaper versions out nowadays rather than the 599 one on release date.

got mine the day it came out, yes one of the ones that can play ps2 games.my ex got it for me as a birthday present, with 3 games.6 months later we went out and got about 20 games, most of them sucked.heh, her trust fund ran out pretty quick.

At that time I was working part time jobs at my aunt's shop about $5 per hour, i save up cut down on expensive lunch not more then $3 some times i even skip lunch and eat bread and within 2 months i hv enough 4 a ps3 console.

Had money saved up, got it on Black Friday with the bundle of Little Big Planet 2 and Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One for only $200 on Amazon, great deal, plus I didn't have to pay tax or shipping.

I actually just got mine as a gift so I didn't really need to pay for it in the first place. But if I needed to buy one, I would just use the money I saved from working to get one.

I got a hand-me-down PS3 if that's possible haha. My uncle bought the new slim PS3 and gave me his old one. I think I got lucky with that, but it later died on me and I had to buy another..

its so simple..I cant afford one 
, anyway i guess if you really want one there are 2 ways one is bad and fast the other is good but maybe tiring :1 you can easily steal it! but thats not good and you may get caught 2- you can work on the summer vacation and buy one

Luckily I have a job even the income is not that big though (T_T) I manage to buy 120GB Slim Model (praise God)

i always begged my parents to buy me a ps3 and they always said no but they surprised me on my birthday by gifting me a ps3 i was really happy

I became a grad student, taught intensive Greek in the summers, married a girl with a job, had a child, and got it for Father's Day. Maybe those aren't all necessary steps...

I got it for christmas one year, so I didn't pay for it myself. My new Wii U is the first console I've bought with my own money, and that money was mostly savings.

I got mine back when it was still $400. I had a bunch of anime volumes what I never opened and traded them in at suncoast. But the cool thing is since they weren't opened the cashier gave me return credit as if I bought it there. So with the money I got a PS3, Metal Gear Solid 4, PSP Star Wars ed. and Final Fantasy Tactics PSP.

I didn't have a PS3 until 2012. I was putting away to buy a newer used car outright, rather than have to make monthly payments. When it turned out I had money left over after getting my car, I picked up the system in time to get Fall of Cybertron for it.
I've only gotten a couple more games since, but it's also my first Blu-Ray player.
