Touchscreen isn't so great a feature...think of how gunky the screen would get. And besides, as long as you get a laptop with a decent processor, ram and video card you're good.

Contrary to popular belief, Alienware may not be the best "bang for your buck" -- from my personal experience testing them out at computer stores and my friends who actually own them, Alienware laptops have short life spans and because they are so customized can often be buggy or overheat quickly. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad computers, just not exactly what you expect from $2000+ laptop. Almost any new version laptop with an updated graphics card and processor can handle the newest games, considering that most gaming producers don't utilize the latest graphics card engines whereas computer manufacturers constantly implement new graphic cards.

desktop pc's work way better for gaming than laptops...... there is no comparison. Laptop hardware cannot be fully upgraded and a laptop that compares with a desktop costs waaaaayyyyyyyyy more...... laptops are good for portability but they will never compare against desktops for gaming.

Alienware laptops can be quite good, but they can be quite expensive. Dell or HP are good midpoints if you are looking to get a cheaper laptop but one that's still pretty powerful. My Specs:Dell Inspiron e1505 LaptopIntel Core Duo @ 2x2.0GHz1GB RAMATI MOBILITY X1400 256MBWUXGA 15.7in widescreen display @ 1600 x 1050120GB SATA HDDRuns Bioshock, Oblivion, C&C 3, HL2, TF2, CS:S, Fable, B&W 2, Sims 2, Simcity 4, WoW, UT2k4, etc...

There's a heap of good laptops that can be used for gaming, you just need some decent specs.

it is obvious that laptops will not be as superior as desktops in terms of gaming but you can def get a good laptop that can run games. you just need to get one with a dedicated graphics card and u can use a site like tomshardware.com to see the benchmarks for the GPU's. Alienware is garbage. Go for dell...

The best laptop for gaming in my opinion would have to be any of Dell's XPS laptops. The XPS M1330 has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T8100 with 4gb of RAM and a 320gb hard drive. It comes with a NVIDIA Geoforce 8400M GS Graphics card. The XPS Studio 13 has the same stuff but the graphics card is a NVIDIA Geoforce MCP79 MX its roughly 1500$ and the other is a little over 1000$edit: my bad didn't realize it was a dead topic.

I have a Compaq Presario... It runs Half Life 2, World of Warcraft, CSS, etc. all perfectly...

Compaq makes minimally decent computers, then charge you up the ass. Specs compared to the price of my computer are awesome. I'm getting a bit annoyed at how people keep thinking they are super gaming computers and post their specs.I payed about $320 dollars for my computer.Vista Home Premium 64-bit4GB DDR2 RAM @ about 800GHz500GBs HarddrivePentium Dual Core @ 2.50GHzDVD-RW+ DriveAlthough, the salesmen had removed the Floppy Drive which I reinstalled using the original components and he also removed the original Video Card which I repurchased for about 15.00 dollars.I suggest NOT purchasing online or retail-wise unless the price you find is extremely low. Try looking for used computers, out-of-box sales, and special offer. An example would be Circuit City's shutdown sale.

Also, that is also over-priced compared to the price of my computer. As I said, take my advice and find very specific offers. Do not purchase computers only because of specific parts they have. If you are wanting a indivisual piece in your computer purchase a computer with a decent motherboard and upgrade it using purchased parts. If you're a noobie at upgrading computers, especially laptops, they're god-awful at changing parts, you should take it to a local computer-fixer and ask him to install it for you.

I have an EEE notebook. It actually runs most games pretty well... maybe not on HQ, but well enough to play them.

Asus series are great gaming laptops if you are getting one... but, because prebuilts are quite expensive, I would recommend the V50 or V51. Those models are old, but they are MORE than enough to run the most popular games like Team Fortress 2. And, I believe you can also play Crysis on low res smoothly as well.

I've played Battlefield, Dofus, WOW and other games on my Lenovo laptop without problems. When buying a new laptop you can ask the salesman for recommendations on laptops for games, he will know which ones will be good enough.
