A joystick wouldn't be able to fit in when the DS folds over unless it is as thin and rubbish as the PSP one.

I wonder why didn't they make a hole in the dpad so we could stick the stylus in there and we will have a very awkward joystick, maybe a short stick apparel instead =/.

Not really. I mean if it had an attachable one, that would work but a joystick built in wouldn't really help. And besided, I'm more precise with D-Pads than I am with Joysticks.

Nah, I don't think so. The main point of the DS is the touch screen and the mic. Maybe they'll make anew system with a joystick. Plus, I prefer the D-pad

Sometimes i think ist good to have a joystick ... but otherways it is good as it is.

i really feel that if the DS had a joystick it'd be way more easy to control characters and stuff, my fingers are too big for the little D-pad thing and the touchscreen isnt always in effect for all games. what do you guys think?

If you want a joystick for the DS take apart a console controller (preferrably an old one or one bought specifically for this) and remove one of its joysticks. Then put tape on the bottom of it so it will stick. Lastly, stick your joystick on top of the DS's d-pad. this method worked fairly well for me although its not exactly the same as a built in joystick. Keep in mind that some games will be harder to play with a joystick because of the way it has to put on. Also, the DS is less portable with the joystick because it cannot fold. More on topic, no I don't think it should have a joystick because most portable games are generally easier to play with a d pad.

You can't have all of the best features in a controller and throw it on a PORTABLE gaming device. There is a reason why they are portable handhelds, and adding a joystick will just defeat the purpose of the DS lite. Like many others state, it just won't fold neatly in your pocket.

It'd be fun. But something removable, otherwise it'd get bulky.

That would be kinda useless. It would not only be too big, but really easy to break.

yeah guys. With a joystick, it would be much more easier to move your characters around. I am used to the joystick because I always play gamecube but I don't know how you guys think. Oh and by the way...MARIO rules

i do wish it had a joystick or atleast a joystick accessory that you could add on to the D-pad. I'd have no idea how to make it, otherwise i'd be sleeping in money!
