I think it would be awesome if the DS had a joystick but it would mean that you could not close it witch would be way annoying. I think they should keep it the way it is and not change it.

yeah....my hands are freakin numb after 6 hours of gameplay. unlike when I'm playing PS games with a comfy joystick, I could last more than 10 hours without getting my hands too numb

Haha, maybe on the next model of the DS where closing it wouldn't be an issue. I agree though; the D-pad gets painful after a few hours, especially for us with big hands. For now, I'll stick with the D-pad.

An interesting idea. I wouldn't mind trying a joystick for the DS for a little bit.

Yeah it could be awesome if the DS had the option of both the d-pad and an analog stick. As with my self sometimes i find my fingers are little bit too big, and sometimes get in the way... :weep:

i dont think a joystick would have much purpose instead i would like a tracker ball or scroll wheel for faster internet browsing i think the pad does the job and if there was a joystick (analogue stick) then the ds would be bigger which i think the size is great at the moment.

No. Why would you need a joystick, it would just be in the way all the time. I find that the D-pad gets in the way when I'm stylusing.

Not really. I'm pretty satisfied with the DS exactly how it is.

I think a joystick would have made it far too clunky. Especially for the DS Lite. It also would have drove the price up. The touchscreen joystick works better than a joystick, as it's more like a mouse. You can jump to any point you want without having to rely on momentum. One of my friends even said that the touchscreen setup in Metroid Prime: Hunters was a lifesaver because he's always found joysticks to be too slow for FPS games.

Why would you add a joystick to something that is "lite", Nintendo DS Lite. It kind of ruin the whole name, imagine having a sleek DS Lite but there is a joystick sticking out. :l
