Well, if it sounds really cool, I will keep it on, but if it's annoying or in a situation where I'll have to keep it down, I keep it down.

I usually play without sounds on my PSP and even on my computer. Except for Ridge Racer though, I like hearing the sound effects of my car drifting and stuff. It's like it's harder for me without. o.O But only in that game, hey I even play Lumines on mute.

i use a power cable so power isn't an issue but usually i'll have the sound off so i can hear other more important things like when dinner is ready, but it depends on the game

Comon has to be with sound. I play nothing but handhelds these days but to do it without sound detracts from the gaming experience. Wear headphone :D

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It really depends. If it's a portable, it's okay w/o sounds but if it's a console, I can't imagine it w/o sounds.

I usually leave (when playing a PC game) the sound effects on, but I mute the in-game music and listen to my own music.Handhelds I usually don't bother with the music. I'm out and about so there's too much other noise, and earphones get caught in things.I almost always have my home console's music playing.

Personally, I've found that playing games with no sound is more boring somehow. Also, backlight is the biggest use of battery power (for those of you that bought that new stuff, anyway).Another thing, if you have an older gameboy or whatever, use rechargable batteries, they rule.

It depends. If it's in an inconvenient place, I turn the volume off. For the most part though, I listen to the music.
