I usuallty play my gba with the sound off when I'm in a public place. I'll only play my XBOX with the sound off if I'm playing a fighting game, then I'll turn on some good fighting music.

I love sounds and music in every game. Handheld or console, my volume is always up!

I always have my sound on, if I have to put it off because there are other people around, I just put my headphones on.

I would give up sounds to get some extra game play out of the old batteries. But music from console is the best, nothing like your own mix while shooting some bad guys.

If its hand held I go without the sound and put on my own music to make it sound cooler. However if its a system game, I like to hear my enemies around me and dialog in cut scense :) :P :P so I keep it on.

I absolutly need the music for games. Particualarly the music based games (guitar hero, Elite beat agents) I will sacrifice the battery for the sound anyday. The only exeption is Pokemon games. The music is extremely repetitive and gets annoying.

Generally I'll just listen to my own music instead of the game's music. However, if the game's sounds warrant it, I'll just give in and turn up the volume on the game.

I general play with the sound off for my DS because I don't ever get to play it until after work and it's late so I don't want to wake anyone in the house up. Yeah I could use headphones, but then I would miss the sound of scurrying little feet or calls for a glass of water.

That's exactly what I do, silverfae. Sound enhances what the game was meant to be, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

I usually play once with the sound on and if I'm replaying the game I turn the sound off and put on music from my MP3. It makes the game a bit more fun.

This how ever depends on what system it is, is it PC or say a gameboy. If it is anything that is NOT handheld i would play with sound, most hand held games (except for the PSP system) have really bad music qualities

Is the cat in the box alive or dead?

If you open the box, you will know the answer.

You will know the truth.

However, until you open the box, you can claim that the cat is alive, and you can also claim it is dead.

I turn on the volume no matter what, because it's always nice to hear the soundtrack of games, especially RPGs.

I need the music. I don't care if it's bad or good(usually I like it no matter what). but it seems just so much more natural with the music. I mean, there are speakers built in right? the music was painstakingly composed for the game, you may as well show some appreciation for it. When my DS or GBA battery goes red, I turn off volume, and it becomes sooo much less fun...

I care about hearing music when I play games, but sometimes, the music just isn't very good. Music in Metroid Prime games really sets the tone for example, which is so necessary. But sometimes music in Soul Caliber or Bomberman games are just corny. Hello iPod :)

I use a charger when I am playing at home, so it matters not. On the go, I typically have sound.
