Without sound since it makes you focus on the game more.

I've never played a game that doesn't have voice acting with sound. I'm usually listening to music or talking with people on Skype.

When I play on a handheld, I keep the sound down to a minimum. I really like the sound of most of the games, and it feels weird to play without it, so I keep it down pretty low in order to save battery.

When using my emulator, I find listening to my music's much better. Sometimes though there's always that theme you just have to hear...:psy:

I usually keep the sound on when I'm playing a game, but occasionally if I feel that the game's music is annoying or just very repetitive I'll turn off the sound and pop open some music.

It really depends on the game. There are some games where listening to the background music for too long will give me a headache. I generally don't play with sound unless I'm alone or with earphones.

I usually prefer the music of the game, however I have, on occasion, liked to mute the game's sound and play my own music when I am tired of the game's music.

I usually wear headphones whenever I play a handheld. I may raise and lower the volume accordingly, but that's it. and if the music drones on for too long, I turn it down.

For me, it just depends on the game. If I've heard the music before and liked it, then I'll have it on, but most times the music for most games just annoy me to no end. For example the battle music and route music for Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald through to Black and White are just so annoying that I can't even listen to it for 5 minutes without being bored of it. However there are some games like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time where I could just have the main character stand in one place for hours and not do anything except listen to the music.

I prefer to mute the sound because some of the music tends to get annoying because it is so repetitive especially the pokemon games. It seems the music has been the same for the past 10 years.

For handhelds, battery is the best enemy. To conserve, especially on long-run games do you turn on the volume or not?

I play with, especially on older games. Love me some 8 bit
