I would prefer an anime with swords... Guns seem too sci-fi to me, which I don't prefer... And hacking and slashing is more interesting to see.

i like anime with swords because its just more interesting also i think guns are just too cheap

Man, the better animes are with swords!! Just take a look at the following: Samurai X(Kenshin Himura), Basilisk, Bleach, need more?? And, the figt woth guns isn't as impressiv as one with swords, it is onger, and spills much more blood, except for Hellsing!!!!

what about animes/(games in this case) like devil may cry that use stylish gun and sword moves i personally think those are the best, that way you get the best of both worlds

I prefer both...but Gundam have both swords and gun. :blink:And don't forget that most of the mecha anime do have this both.. :)

i like them both, swords are all flashy and look cool. guns are just plainly kickass like in trigun

Swords are cooler because they are flashy, :s, and they can be animated a lot faster and cooler. Unless somebody can jump around shooting a gun and have bullets hit each other and do awesome scenes, which I usually don't see. Swords are just so much cooler-looking...

Definitely true. There are tons of sword techniques and the such, but when it comes to a gun, all I think of is somebody holding a gun and triggering the shot, and you can't do too much else. I mean, you either shoot the gun or don't shoot the gun, there's not much else, in my opinion, that you can do with it. Also, often guns are used for armies/civilians and prove to be so weak that they don't affect the strong characters... You can find this in Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Bleach, etc.

there only one thing i dont like about anime w/ bolth guns and swords and thats that in these it becomes posible to deflect a bullet w/ a sword :weep: if anyone ever realy tryed that theyed get a face full of sword shrapnal and -1 sword for them! but then again who cairs it's anime... to qupte fighter "I like swords!"

Id pick a sword. To me it seems like it would be more action but with guns, all I would probably see is running around tryign to deflect each others bullets

sword.. because the are much more skills that can do with sword.. i wish there's anime that use both gun and sword.. just like Dante,.

I prefer swords over guns simply because any fool can shoot a gun and kill the one he wants but it takes skill to beat someone with a sword and when a sword is used the strength of the wielder is a factor in the fight whereas if you look at a lot of the animes that use guns the hero's defining attribute is his/her speed and strength is neglected... I prefer the more well rounded hero.

Hmm depends on the anime.I like just guns in some, and swords in others.But there are a few times both are used really well like in Devil May Cry.

I choose guns. Imagine a cool calculating hero that saves his heroine from 50 feet away after eliminating all of the enemy from afar with a smoking gun.. Wow :laugh:.I don't mind swords, but I like knives better. If the main character uses guns, knives, & booby traps, then that's my kind of anime/manga. Wanna see some example? Take a look at Miwa Shirow's Dogs & Eden: It's an endless World. Dogs is 18+, and Eden is 21+ tho, so proceed with caution.. (I felt like an old man)There's another manga which on the scene, the hero fend off two attack from a bandit swordsman with the tip of his barrel. And then he blast both of the sword away leaving the two enemies with a broken sword and lifeless body.. That's kinda cool don't you think? I forgot which manga tho..

oh u would really like this anime called desert punk, the main character uses excessive gun play and a crap load of gadgets and traps, but he is also a sleeze...I like a good use of both guns and swords, so sad that the Devil May Cry Anime was not as action packed as the games :(
