The new characters are all pretty cool but Wario and Snake seem like they could be left out.

Is there any news on Sonic being in the game yet? They were talking about it for a while. I would love for him to be in!

If what you say is true about Nintendo not wanting to use characters that appear on other consoles, why are they using Snake? If I'm not mistaken, Metal Gear is on Playstation.The way it stands, right now, Nintendo has to pay any third party developer in order to use their characters in brawl.If they were to use Sonic, they'd have to shell out big bucks to Sega.Nintendo really doesn't want characters in Smash Bros that will be featured on other systems. If what Elementis said is correct, then SEGA was contacted a while ago, if they haven't responded by now, most likely if they DO respond, they'll want a lot for the rights to use sonic in SSBB.On the topic of characters we WISH were in Brawl, Claris Sinclair from NiGHTS into Dreams ><. Hell, they're making a Wii NiGHTS game...wishful thinking I'm afraid, though...

Everyone needs to stop saying;'HE WILL BE!'or'HE WONT BE!'.Put simply, it's POSSIBLE, I personally don't think he'd fit, but I know he'd have a chance.I'm actually surprised no one posted that fake screenshot where someone edited a screenshot from the Subspace Emissary update where they changed one of the screens in the background of a Samus picture so it looked like Sonic personally.

I think he probably will be.. That edit where they made the screen look like sonic- I know that guy, lol, he made it for another forum I go to and it seemingly spread VERY far.

I'm certain that Nintendo wants Sonic in (it's obvious that he's one third-party character that the fans want the most), but whether he's in the game or not depends entirely on Sega. My guess is that he will be in the game - kind of makes sense - Mario is already going to be in a Sega game, while Sonic should be in a Nintendo game.

Sonic would be a poor addition to SSBB. He would be made useless or will be uncontrolable. You have to remember sonic is like 100 times faster than any other nintendo character we know will be in it so far, how on earth will the make sonic controllable at that speed? All they can do is dull his powers making sonic about as good as mario with a cheap sonic costume from the party store.

Becuase sega's original team gave up hope and what i call the "new" sega is killing sonic as we know him.Was that sonic and mario olympics a april fools gag or not? I never bothered finding out.

I'd like to see him, but the rules Nintendo has set is that the character has to have first appeared on consoles on a Nintendo console. That's why Solid Snake was let in... Metal Gear first appeared on consoles on the NES.

In an interview, they actually acknowledged that Sonic was the most-asked character to be in brawl. (Apparently, they read forums.) Also, his spin attack is more like a spinning saw of death. Also, sega is on really good terms with Nintendo, so they don't have to spend too much.
