heh, well the EASIEST explanation is that it is a computer-generated picture that instead of being created with pixels is instead created using mathematical equations. This is why most vector images are rather...geometric.that's not the most useful for you though. In Photoshop, all text for example, is vector. Text is infinitely scalable. Also, paths created with the pentool are vectors (not the fills usually, unless you create a fill using a vector mask). Also, the shape tools are vector-based tools. If you want the BEST idea of what vectors are, get a hold of Illustrator, EVERYTHING in there is a vector-based tool.and if that wasn't clear enough: Wikipedia is your friend
what is a vector??

Nice work stock *cough got that off me cough*
Maybe you should try your hand at a vector, even if it isn't for Sotw.I thought I also might add that because vectors are made using mathematical equations instead of set pixels they are INFINITELY scaleable but if there are lines that are off slightly they will show up on very large scalings of vector pictures. The actual quality of the sides of the lines and shapes won't be any different though.
