I like to dowload the games, but only when I am tight on cash. I would normally just buy it cause then you get the manual on how to play the game and other things. Latley I have just been dowloading though.

Did you ever hear of Sturgeon's Law? Theodore Sturgeon was a SF author in the fifties and coined the Law that "90% of everything is crap." Now that seems to me to be a little bit optimistic when applied to video games and particularly to handheld video games. I do download dozens and dozens of games and have done this on many systems in the past. But if I play a game repetitively and really enjoy it, then I will go out and buy a legal copy. I consider downloaded games to be demos, they type of demo which if the publishing companies themselves were honest they would probably offer in some sort of crippled version. If games for the DS were available on the publisher sites for download but had such features as saving disabled I would likely go there instead of ROM sites. But I refuse to spend so much money as games cost these days based on deceptive box art, reviews from magazines who take ads to survive, ad copy and official website bullhockey. So I have had the DS now for around a week. I have downloaded about 30 games. Most stink. Tomorrow or the next day I will be buying Zelda and FFIV and a couple others because 90% of what I downloaded is crap. I don't feel that any intellectual property theft I have committed is unjustified given the fact that it is the only way a consumer has to protect themself. (Just parenthetically the XBOX 360 does have a system like this where you can download hundreds of game demos. I do not and would not "pirate" XBOX 360 games due to that fair-to-the-consumer system).

I would buy my games, but as to the fact that they are so darn expensive, I'd prefer to download them and whether play them on the comp or use my 2G R4~ which btw, is totally worth it! It's pretty much 20+ games for the price of maybe 2-3 (depending on the memory of the microSD that you have) However, yes, downloading them is illegal, so I only get the ones that i REALLY wanted, or else I'd leave them alone and not even touch them.

Bad habits are hard to kick. I've downloaded music for so long being a student and not being able to afford a CD with two good songs on it. The games have gone the same way since I got my card and all. Probably should support companies, but it is so hard when they make millions and i make 7.50 an hour. ;)

some games i download, while some i buy. if i want to try it first, definitely downloading is the answer. although some games require other peripherals like guitar hero so you're off buying the original

Downloading games make so much more sense! It is great to be able to get games and if you don't like them, you have wasted a lot of money. Love the r4!!

I downloaded every single one of my DS games. Before getting the DS, I knew there was such a thing called a "R4" so, when I bought the DS, I bought the R4 immediately afterwards. When I knew about the DS and not the 'R4' yet, the game I wanted was Nintendogs. I was still 10-11 then.

wow.. this is a sensitive question to ask.. Well if you asked me, I download them and the reason is the same as the rest i suppose. Even it can be argued that the games aren't that expensive, one must still look at the other side of the story. With games coming out ever so quickly, how could a normal-income family support their child to buy every single game?
