I will always buy DS games because it is guaranteed to work, and it gives you something real to hold onto. I may buy a flash cart to be able to download import games but that would be the only reason why. It's hard to justify spending $80 or more on an import game when you cannot understand the language.

I bought my first three games but from now on I'll be using an R4.

I have bought all of my games. I think its just worth the money to have the actual game/case/instructions and stuff. Not to mention Im not very good at downloading or understanding how to use an R4

The R4 is easier to use !!! You must just copy 3 files on the microSD and the games whichis you want to play...I don't speak and understand English very well (i speak French) but the R4's manual is clear.I'm downloading !!!

It is illegal to download games if you don't own them already, but it's not very economical. I tend to download a game onto my PC, and then if I like it I'll buy it for my DS.

I actually do both. I download most, but I also buy the ones I like (Phoenix Wright, Megaman....). After all, the editors also need their money ^^

I bought over 20 games, some new and some used, based solely on game site ratings and got some good and some bad (e.g. Top Spin 2). Now I try them first with the card and buy only the games I know have long term use (e.g. Hoops 3 on 3, Pokemon Diamond).

Yes it's illegal... But asks to yourself that question : It's always a vol if you rob a robber ?
