I used the gameshark and got 99 but I regretted it right after because it made the game too easy.

I have 995 in pearl, I used cheats, now life is too easy, but I dont really use masterball ALL the time, maybe use it to catch noob pokemon, the egendary ones will be caught with my other pokeballs.
When the going gets tough, the tough goes shopping...

If you are using an emulator you can just cheat and get as many as you like. I'm about to start playing the series of Pokemon starting with Fire Red and not cheat at all. Though when I used to play on an actual handheld I would never cheat and I don't ever think I had more than 1 that I ended up loosing.

I've unfortunately only played the Yellow version completely through so I can only say from my experience of that single game (regardless of how much I played it) only 1 Master Ball was found, and nearly each time I would use it on Mewtwo...that was until I discovered that in the red version there is a mew available...so I the last time I played it I never used it in hopes of finding mew somewhere in the yellow version.

When I played Gold, I always kept one so I'd always have one to clone. In Saphire, I just used it on Latias as soon as I saw the thing, and as I play Diamond on an Emulator, and have found the cheats to get any pokemon you want ftom the mining museum, I don't see the point of having more Master Balls.

my motto is"use some skilldon't cheatunless you needexcept emerald cloning 'course"seriously, if someone would put infinite amount of master balls, then there is no reason to play for me anymore. when to cheat is when you can't trade/nintendo events. but this of course excludes pokemon emerald cloning
