What makes a game good? I personally think that a good game requires freedom to do whatever you feel like, perhaps that's why I like Fable : TLC a lot. This topic doesn't just have to be about RPGs, it can be about RTS, FPS, or any other games.Besides, I think that the vehicle selections in Warrock.Post examples of the games you like, too.

I like RPG's in which the story is very good, if the story is good you will be interested and wondering all the time.

Looks good, feels right, can be played over and over from start to finish with something new each time. Simple system with a smooth flow to it. I don't like having to wait for something to happen so that I can go get my next shiney.

A good game has to have a good storyline, and good graphics.

What makes a particular game good varies from genre to genre somewhat, but a few general ones are memorability, has a wide appeal, and originality. Graphics help, but some of my personal favorites are NES games like Tetris, because it has those three characteristics that I just mentioned.

It has to be unique from any other game on the market, like Mario.

Freedom, story, and uniqueness.Freedom because who wants to be stuck in a linear story often? Fable and Oblivion did this amazingly well- Beyond the main story, you could do hundreds of things. It is awesome.Story. Linear or free-form, a game HAS to have a good story to it. I roleplay and write, and the stories of games entice me to keep doing it. Halo's story, for instance, drew me in from the start. Oblivion's story was mixed with drama and heroism, which lead to even greater story-points.Uniqueness. Oh my god, I hate clones of other games. Oblivion is unique in that I think it was probably one of the first games to use melee weapons mainly in first-person. Condemned is one of those too, and in a way, Halo does it, but... I think Oblivion was really the first true first-person-beat-em-up games. Also, Fable- Awesome story, choices of good and evil, free-form playing... It has got to be one of the best games out there for my criteria.

prefer games that either have a solid story that keeps me interesting.Or a free sand box type .Graphics arent as important as the message and story.

Interesting storyline. Intellectually engaging. Good music. High replay value. Originality. The kind of game that will make you lose track of time indefinitely. Qualities like that.

just a thought. now music might not be what you'd think of as being an important attribute at first right?but I was just thinking, I like castlevania games tons more than metroid games (even though I really think metroid is really cool too) now I don't want to start the whole metroid vs castlevania debate but when I think about it Symphony of the Night was and still is one of my faves, why? sure gameplay rocked and rpg platforming was super cool as was being a badas half vampire guy buuuut, I still listen to the music off of the soundtrack, it really brings back cool memories, same thing with Final Fantasy games. Now music isn't the first thing I look for in a game, for starters I don't look for music cause you have to use your ears not your eyes to hear it (heh I sooo funny) buuuut if I have a choice between two games which are really cool and pretty similar, its really great music that makes me remember one and not remember so much the other.ps I repeat music is not what makes the game good to play, gameplay (obviously) is the thing that does that, buuut good music makes me want to play a game for longer than I should, some of those midi ping ping pings in some game music grates after a while that even if the game is cool I want to do something else. Course I could just listen to a cd or mp3 while I'm playing but it never feels the same...

A good game won't let you sleep in front of the console. It will be hard enough even to get you angry at it.You will try to beat this game, because it is the challenge you were looking for.It will be funny, and not make you think "why the hell would i do it?".Playbility, also,is fundamental. The game should be hard to beat, not to even do the commands. Also, some types of games are better when certain criteria are above the standards.Like a good story to RPGs,for example. Some extra are good, like any type of side quest,or alikes.Excellent graphics are good, but are not a must.I mean, look at Street Fighter 2,or Super Street fighter 2.I think Street Fighter are the best fighting games, and they have good graphics, but what do you like most about the game, honestly?Answer to yourself, and you come to the same conclusion as I did.The music,it does not need to be the best you heard on all your life, but flow along with you and the game.I think that's all for now.

First i'll choose the battle system, it's my favourite. Then sounds in-game, next will be storyline. The fourth not so important, but it must be exist, some unique quests to get strongest weapon/armor/magic in game.
