I've beaten the career mode on Medium and could probably do hard as well (and some of expert), but I find GH2 more fun so I'm going to work on my 5 stars for every song on hard and expert first.

i'm pretty sure for the controls for the Wii version is exactly like any other guitar hero except it may or maynot be the same fingering and same style.

I have a philosophy about trilogys in movies and video games. The first game in a possible trilogy (GH1) breaks new ground and is heralded as a breakthrough. The second is a lame rip-off that steals your money and leaves you bored. The third is better tham the first because the designers want the 3rd to be better than the second, and yet still be innovative. For example, GH1 had an end song that rocked hard and was hard to beat as well! GH2 however, had a lame ending song that should have been been "Jordan" instead of "Free-bird". Free bird has no rock rythm while jordan is damn near impossible to beat! GH3 has the perfect blend. New graphics, harder songs that rock, a remake of "the devil went to georgia", the hardest song in GH history, and a new star power system! therefore...GH3<GH1<GH2!

GHIII sucked. GHI&II were much better. Abadoxian, how can you say Freebird is a bad ending song? Its one of the most epic rock songs ever. Personally, I think the GH series is done. The game was much better when Harmonix made it, and now that they're working with Rock Band...

GHIII is the best. The only reason is because GHII didn't have the greatest songs.

I've beaten GHIII on Hard and Expert, with Expert being beaten first. I only have it for PS2, so no The Devil Went Down To Georgia for me (unfortunately, as it's an awesome song). I haven't touched Easy or Medium yet. Man, Lou is hard to beat on Expert. But I guess it's worth it, as you unlock one of the hardest songs in GH history, Through The Fire and Flames!GHI was awesome when it first came out, as it had all of the famous rock songs. You know, Iron Man, Smoke on The Water, I Love Rock And Roll, among other awesome songs. Bark At The Moon was an epic ending song.GHII was, in my opinion, better than GHI. Not because of the songs, but because of the new hammer-on/pull-off system. I found songs in GHII easier than GHI because of this. Also, GHII had new characters, like Eddie, Casey and Lars. And Jordan was a beast to beat. I've only beaten it once, but that was based off of pure luck.In the end, Guitar Hero owns. End of story. Now, I must go buy Rock Band, to complete my Guitar Hero collection (GHI, GHII, GHE:80's, and GHIII).

I'd say I like GH3 then GH1 then GH2.My main reason for liking GH3 so much is the musical diversity. Theres so many more different genres of good guitar heavy music in 3. Theres 'something for everyone' I feel. Plus my favorite GH songs out of all the games, are on GH3. Not to mention there are many more master tracks and originals of the songs, unlike the other GH games that used a lot of covers.

I own the Wii version (I don't own an Xbox360 or a PS3) and I will agree that the lack of downloadable songs is terrible, though probably not for my bank account :). That and the fact that the original Wii version only output mono sound!Overall, I like the fact that so many of the songs in GHIII are not covers, unlike the first 2. The vocals in the cover versions of the first two games were in general lacking/lame, and took away the epicness of "playing."

That is probably one of the most system-diverse games ever. I mean, seriously! Wii, PS2, PS3, 360, and PC? Who would ever want that game on all of those systems?
