No, whenever we tried (our DVD player had crashed), the DVD's always froze halfway through, or got reaally laggy.

No I never do. I've got a dvd player right next to it. I hate how you have to use the controller to get it started. Besides, my ps2 doesn't play movies that great anyway. Maybe that's because mine is old though.

I used to, but my DVD driver in my PS2 has been giving me trouble. Skipping, freezing, and simply "Unable to read disc" errors are some of the few issues I get. So I just use my DVD player.

When i first got my PS2 my parents used it to play DVD's since we did not own a DVD player at that time. Even i watch movies using it now, when my dad is using the DVD player

Used to, before we got a free DVD Player and didn't need to use it anymore. Unfortunately, that meant I lost my reasons not to relocate the PS2 to my room's small TV :<

Yes. Instead of having a DVD player in my basement, I use the PS2.

Well so far I don't have a DVD player besides my computer in the dorm right now. So the PS2 is my DVD player alternative for watching DVDs on the TV.
