Well, it's a good game and we weren't satisfied by the previous entries in the series? For me, I'm playing these around 5 years apart from each other... so I kind of miss it and then decide to play the new one. I can't say they've been getting better, but I feel the games are still enjoyable (haven't played Diamond/Pearl yet though).
WHy are people going back to pokemon?

Honestly, I think this question was posted in bad taste, but nonetheless;Pokemon was a game that *everyone* wanted to play, be it on the Gameboy, the cards, or even the retarded little Giga-pet knockoff Pikachu. Then it outgrew itself, and became the "loser" game; everyone outwardly said it was lame. But I know that most people who said this (about56 out of the 60-some that I personally know) either still kept and played the GB games/cards, or even went out and bought the new versions as they came out. The release of Diamond and Pearl (BTW great job Nintendo on using the version name of a cheap, poorly translated ROM) for the DS only meant that once again there was a new Pokemon game for another platform. So, honestly, most people never "left" and "came back to" Pokemon if they played it at all. (Kinda like alcohol, huh?)

because I believe diamond and pearl is really a hit in NDS games, i personally bought NDS just for pokemon

I was at one point ashamed to play it, but now that I have graduated and matured a little, I am playing it all of the time. The new one is the best in the series, and it has been attracting a lot of attention.

thats a good question: i went back to digimon after pkmn diamond/pearl and never went back for one reason..............DIGIMON IS BETTER THAN POKEMON!!!!!!!!!!!There i said it

pokemon has always been a game with a good gameing style a good replay value and a unique and exellent RPG style making it one of the best franchise nintendo has had.

Well people might be going back to pokemon because of the Wi-Fi ability that lets you trade pokemon, battle, and chat online, other than that some people still like pokemon so they just play the game.

The games are fun? the franchise is really stale IMO, but the gameplay is still fun. Eg. i like the goldeneye game..dislike the movie though.

The new version for pokemon is out (pearl&diamond).Since I can't get my hands on the original I've had to get my hands on the roms..but *urgh* my emulator can't run it...any ideas?
