We need fantasy in this world. We can't always play shooting or action game : Pokémon is a nice RPG and I guess most of us don't have to be childish to play it. You can actually explore a new world and "lead and train" monsters! OOooooooOoooh. Same as the new Dragon Quest or the Digimon, but whatever. Pokémon is a great title even though the anime episodes and the movies are for child and teens (to teach them "good values", like every other movie/tv serie for this age range). Anyway!

It's a really nice idea... instead of just battling monsters like other fantasy games, you can catch them and train them.

pokemon has always been ther but wasnt as popular to the present day until pokemon diamond and peral came out and the new skills, town, badges , wifi etc bring pokemon to a whole new level

Pokemon, not just a single game, but the series as a whole, is quite addictive. I love going aroung trying to catch, train, and evolve all the new pokemon in Diamond and Pearl. I also like to use the new WiFi features to go online and challenge players from other countries(like Japan, who had the game before we did) and prove to them that just because they had it before the U.S. players, doesn't make them better at it.

i agree with the majority here, most people have always liked pokemon and have probly never really stopped playing it, its the same with everything though, FF fans will buy a new FF game if it comes out wont they? so why not buy a new pokemon game if ur a fan? its pretty simple to work out actually, pokemon is a pretty big title aswell

Childish it may be, but it's fairly addictive. but I find all Digimon Games very addictive (as in I just have to beat the game!!)
