I have never actually stopped playing Pokemon. Ive been playing since I was 6 years old. Some people go back to it cause they see that Diamond and Pearl have great graphics and its a big challenge compared to the original games. And its fun to explore the new regions.
WHy are people going back to pokemon?

Well, I have played all Pokemon games and I liked them right at the beginning and now I know that Pokemon games are good and I play them again and again.

Because it has became to be almost like a tradition to buy pokemon games. Not for it's features, Not because of the gameplay, but because it is the way fans are.

i think because young people likes the rpg style of the game, but in other way i hate the stories who tell the chars during the game

People are going back to Pokemon because the generation shift brought a competitive gameplay mode which people had been cracving. People left because it was getting too repetitive by just training pokemon. Now there is satisfaction by getting a high level, high power pokemon. Battling somebody on wifi is not just ordinary attack and defence. Most battles are won by knowing what your opponent is going to do. Which is where the people that have never left Pokemon shine. The best battlers know the combos, strengths and weaknesses etc. The new games have gone far beyond beating the elite four only....And if anyone wants a battle, im always up for one

Well I am 22 and have been playing the games since I was 13. Long ago the pokemon universe was unleashed upon us and I still love it. Always will.

people go back to pokemon for the same reason someone goes back to anything... b/c its worth it. i'm going back just because i wanna beat all the lame elite 4 that they make...

I hadn't played Pokemon in a WHILE... that is until yesterday. I started to play Pokemon LeafGreen. Just for the fun of it. I gotta admit its pretty fun but its NOTHING like the Original Pokemon games that I played when I was a kid.

Its a classic game, and despite its 'unpopular' feel, people actually get enjoyment from the games. If they liked it the first time they know they are going to like it again. There may also be some nostalgic value.

Maybe it is the nostalgia factor at work, I was done with Pokemon after Gold, but I bought the remake of the original on the GBA and played through it a few times, it was nice to re-live those games

I don't think anyone every really left pokemon, so they aren't coming back. It never died. But up to the gold and silver they were really good games, and after that it seemed like they went down hill, whether because of the games themselves or something else. I think that the hype is back up mostly because of the features of the DS. Before you could tell everyone about your pokemon and stuff like that, but now with wifi you can show everyone. It basicly expanded the pokemon world from your game to the whole earth. I don't know about you but that would get me back to pokemon (and it did woot!).

i think its becuase pokemon always comes back with something new.people have watched the pokemon frantchise grow and have watch them come back again and again with a new game along with a new adventure to expireance(sorry for my spelling) well thinking about it, pokemon is kind of like a drug you stay addicted to it and you can never get enough.
