It was always a popular game my daughter loved it when she was little and when i bought her her ds lite the first game she bought was Pokemon Diamond she was 19 then shes 20 now and still plays it.

I believe that some people like things like Bakugan, which is not out on the DS yet so they buy Pokemon. Others are just little kids who still like it and spread the word.

Pokemon did did have a slump when gold & silver came out but that was because its fan base was growing up but now they're reminiscing on the old days. (thats why i got diamond anyway)

I can only speak for myself and my kids, but we simply love pokemon. I always wonder how we did without it. They don't die, the game is not agressive and they just look cute. It is the best game i have ever had. I still use my color to play the first games too.

hmmm i think pplz r goign back to pokemon because its on a newer system and since there r more things u can do with it and pplz always go back to pokemon once a newer version comes out

1. Because Pokemon has been an awesome game since gameboy came out2. There are lots of hardcore pokemon fans3. because it's a new game with more different pokemon each time4. It makes Nintendo loads of money.

Because they never grew up? Nah lol. Pokémon, in this time, is a timeless brand. And yes, with all the new games, new people get involved and become fans. Also, older *hardcore* fans will continue playing to 'CATCH 'EM ALL'. lol.I, myself, used to be a big Pokémon fan.. always playing Red, Yellow and Silver.. but after that I got confused with the numbers they multiplied, so I stopped ;p

pokemon is fun but still,som people call it "unpopulaur"so that makes people take a break look at som other games,that sorta stuff.and then,when they here about pokemon platinum they bye it wen it comes out.its very weird

Its because many people played pokemon when they were younger and with the addition of wi-fi it became a new hit again because they can now truly battle againsty people

Pokemon has been (and still is) popular by youngsters and adults alike. Its fun and when there are new pokemons and you are a Pokemon fan, you can't help but to buy the new game and see what it has in store for you.

It's always been popular, and people who got into it in grade school are now old enough to be in college or older, (like me- I was in third grade when I first got Pokemon Blue, I'm halfway through college now). People remember how much fun they had back then, and get enough nostalgia for the experience to feel like trying out the newest version. The newest Pokemon games are best used as timewasters to stave off boredom as far as I'm concerned, but I still like playing them... Need to get around to actually buying a copy, though...

Also, a lot of people are discovering that there is more to Pokemon then just "catching them all" and raising your Pokemon to level one hundred.There is a really in depth competitive play which makes Pokemon a great game.

It was always good, and pretty much always will be... there's very little you can do wrong to it by adding things. Plus it's full of Nintendo's "pretty and shiny hides uberdeep mechanics" design. Anyone can play it; few will master it.

jjimy i couldn't agree more it's just that pokemon never really gets old there is always something new.
