Because when I was a wee kiddie, I played pokemon. It 1) Is a pretty solid game (Even though it is simple). 2) Battling with friends was always pretty cool, and now you can battle online. Overall, it is a pretty well made game.

Its a fun, solidly built RPG system that is fun to beat and has a thresh hold for competitive play.

All the Pokemon games are fun.. Good solid RPG titles with lots of replay value due to the unlimited amount of choices you can do for making a Party.

I used to play Pokemon when I was like 9. Now I'm 16 and 2 days ago started playing again. Dunno it just came across my mind lol. I guess its because Pokemon is not getting old =P

The thing with pokemon is that it is basically a very, very good RGB. It is adventerous, you can collect something, you can improve something, you can fight. And the system is fine-tuned enough so it doesn't get boring once your part of the world. Fighting against another friend after choosing 6 pokemon which were just prepared for this fight right from hatching their eggs, so they get the 'perfect' movecombination and can counter some of the many possible battling strategies... Never found something that was actually more challenging or satisfying.I think I'll still want to play pokemon in the future, also if one day the graphics are so detailed, that I actually feel the gras swaying in the wind and the whole 3D world is just around me..... On the other hand, also people who don't like to collect every item and every pokemon will still have fun, just playing it through, and never even thinking about effortpoints and traininggrounds and so on...

I totally agree. I think that with the advent of online Wi-Fi battles, people are becoming more and more drawn to Pokemon. I know that before the latest games, I simply beat the game and did nothing more with it. My Pokemon were all around level 60, but that was it, I just didn't play the game anymore. Online play gives us an opportunity to utilize our hard earned Pokemon and time spent raising them. I felt that there was no purpose in raising my Pokemon for the first three generations, as only myself and maybe a friend would be able to bask in their awesomeness. But now that I can fight people all over the world, I feel more motivated to IV/EV train Pokemon and get them to level 100. Online play is like Part II of Pokemon once you beat the regular game. People are being more attracted to Pokemon because it's a chance to show off their Pokemon and compete with others at what they're good at.

Pokemon Red was my first game outside of an arcade. That was about 10 years ago and I'll still go back and play it. However, when I try to play the newer games (like diamond and pearl), they seem to feel a bit juvenile. I suppose without the nostalgia factor, Pokemon just cycles through new sets of young kids to replace the old fans like myself.

Well me personally went back to Pokemon because I loved it for GB and GBA why not DS. It was very fun but I think one problem that arose for me when I started playing the newer versions was the depth it was kinda a buzz kill for me.

Because it's an interesting take on turn-based strategy games. There's about as much depth in those games as you want there to be, especially once you get into versus matches with players instead of CPU.

probably because the wifi features made it worthwhile. most people would definitely want to pit their bunnyrabbits against others across the world.(at least i know some who'd agree to that)also, in connection to that, the bragging rights. Who wouldn't want to shout"my 1-hp-left Shining Magikarp OWNED ALL YOUR POKEMON with flail!!!"?

Maybe because they always come with new features and improvements in the game to make it worth it?Nonetheless, it's always fun to play pokemon. Yet, since there already are so many pokemon, it's hard to create cooler ones then before.

I owned every Pokemon games Nintendo ever made, I keep going back to play them again and again. Why? every time you play, the outcome will be different! You can catch different Pokemon even in the same spot you are standing on in the game! The outcome will be always different, that's why it's cool to replay again and again. Get your money worth, and still never get tired of them. And you can spend hours after hours on each game. It's got everything from catching the different Pokemon, meeting different characters in the game, battles with your friends, even playing mini games within some of them.

1. Pokemon has the popularity. You can find pokemon products everywhere2. Pokemon has the simplicity. Anyone can pick up and play it3. Pokemon has the depth. Its surprisingly deep for anyone looking for a good RPG.4. Pokemon has Pokemon! Who hasn't wanted have a pet?

Lol I love the yu-gi-oh games/showyugioh may have just been harder for younger kids to understand and some even may not have been able to watch it, where as almost anyone could pick up the concept of pokemon. I am going to pick an audience( not saying this group is the only one that does/should) but say, I pick kids, maybe ages 4-10. Kids love animals, right? and what are children scared of? monsters! So on pokemon is closer to animals, whereas yugioh is closer to MONSTERS!
