I totally agree. I think that with the advent of online Wi-Fi battles, people are becoming more and more drawn to Pokemon. I know that before the latest games, I simply beat the game and did nothing more with it. My Pokemon were all around level 60, but that was it, I just didn't play the game anymore. Online play gives us an opportunity to utilize our hard earned Pokemon and time spent raising them. I felt that there was no purpose in raising my Pokemon for the first three generations, as only myself and maybe a friend would be able to bask in their awesomeness. But now that I can fight people all over the world, I feel more motivated to IV/EV train Pokemon and get them to level 100. Online play is like Part II of Pokemon once you beat the regular game. People are being more attracted to Pokemon because it's a chance to show off their Pokemon and compete with others at what they're good at.The thing with pokemon is that it is basically a very, very good RGB. It is adventerous, you can collect something, you can improve something, you can fight. And the system is fine-tuned enough so it doesn't get boring once your part of the world. Fighting against another friend after choosing 6 pokemon which were just prepared for this fight right from hatching their eggs, so they get the 'perfect' movecombination and can counter some of the many possible battling strategies... Never found something that was actually more challenging or satisfying.I think I'll still want to play pokemon in the future, also if one day the graphics are so detailed, that I actually feel the gras swaying in the wind and the whole 3D world is just around me..... On the other hand, also people who don't like to collect every item and every pokemon will still have fun, just playing it through, and never even thinking about effortpoints and traininggrounds and so on...

Lol I love the yu-gi-oh games/showyugioh may have just been harder for younger kids to understand and some even may not have been able to watch it, where as almost anyone could pick up the concept of pokemon. I am going to pick an audience( not saying this group is the only one that does/should) but say, I pick kids, maybe ages 4-10. Kids love animals, right? and what are children scared of? monsters! So on pokemon is closer to animals, whereas yugioh is closer to MONSTERS!1. Pokemon has the popularity. You can find pokemon products everywhere2. Pokemon has the simplicity. Anyone can pick up and play it3. Pokemon has the depth. Its surprisingly deep for anyone looking for a good RPG.4. Pokemon has Pokemon! Who hasn't wanted have a pet?
