anime is cooler right now but only because of all the concepts on adventurebut anyway the first anime was inspired by a walt disney cartoonso cartoon for seniority

If Japanese versions of Animes with English subtitles are allowed, then I say anime. If it's just english dubs, then cartoons

granted American cartoons have been good every once in awhile, classic cartoons like loony toons and tom and jerry, to recent ones like avatar and ben 10. But anime has hit more success I think. The ideas are more than obviously fantasy, but the fact that the characters in American cartoons never have a lasting injury after getting seriously hurt kinda makes me shy away from it. Especially when I'm watching these kids around me watching the shows and thinking they won't get hurt if they do the same thing they just saw the character do and walk away from it. At least in anime, if a character breaks an arm or loses a limb it hurts them and it stays in the picture till the problem is fixed.

It is animes hans down. You don't even have to think about it. They are way better than cartoons. Animes have way better storylines and I admire the way the artists draw their characters... so detailed...

I prefer anime because they're not all kid-oriented. However, the older cartoons (the tex avery show with the wolf and rabbit that all look the same) are actually pretty good. For instance, in Red Hot Riding Hood, you can figure out the grandma is actually a mistress for a brothel. Then they have a lot of stereotypes hidden within if you look carefully. They're funny too, but I still prefer anime.
