Because, they market it to you when your kids, and get you hooked when your young, much like cigarettes. I still havent really kicked the addiction, I mean it came out in my age group....there are still days that just remind me of the times i woke up at 630 in the morning to watch pokemon...and riding in the back of the car with my game boy trying level up my kabotops,so that I could show the kids at school that my team line-up was the best..I think I am addicted to the memories of how beautifully simplistic those days were...and the total blissful escape Pokemon provided into a world in which if I spend enough time I could be the best.

I don't think it's THAT addicting. Frankly, I got kinda sick of the latest game fast, I got annoyed with having to battle every 20 seconds against a trainer... I guess I like the game cause it's an RP and I like storylines. Even Pokemon has funky storylines

Any good RPG is addictive like that because there is always something productive within the game to do and better your character(s).

pokemon is addictive, because it draws you into the game and the action never stops!

The Reason why I think pokemon is so addictive is because everyone remembers it as a kid. I mean when I was a kid I loved pokemon and I guess I miss it. Its vicious though I dont care what nobody think.

People are greedy. I gotta catch them all. They will ALL be mine! Mine! MINE!That, or it's just kinda fun to make weird little monsters fight each other . . . not sure which.

Not only Pokemon is addictive, some games is addictive. Especially story mode. You wanted to find out what's the end of the story. That's why it makes it so addictive. As for Pokemon, I wanted to get all the Pokemon to see that what happen if I get the diploma. And what happen if my trainer card is GOLD.

The games are really fun, but the best part about the games are the glitches.

Pokemon is not addictive as some may put it, its just that pokemon is a game that chalanges and puzzles the player. Isn't it exciteing to know that you can raise a pokemon of your choise that you like and train it to beat other trainers pokemon?I don't know about others, but I love chalanges and pokemon does just that.

It's something that i can't put my finger on, i think it might have to do with the fact that there are heaps of pokemon.

Because it's so old. D: And it's so fun to watch the entire game evolve, from what it once was, to what it is now. Obviously, it's not one of the oldest games, but compare Yellow with Diamond. :P

Not always. I've played pokemon red/blue so many times against the gym leaders... I know what they and other trainers will say, which order their pokemons go in, etc.I agree with the brainwave crack theory.

its because theyve dialed into the formula of materialism that you have been programed with from the beginning of your life. they create a "need" that you really dont have, so you just gotta catchum all, even tho you dont need to. turn on your television and you can now see that all those commercials are brainwashing you into the same thing. arent you glad you read this? now youre smarter.... =D
