I like Christian bands that don't fit the stereotypical mold for Christian Rock. Jars of Clay and POD happen to be my favorite Christian bands. Neither band tries to cram their beliefs down listeners' throats, and the messages of their songs are usually broad enough for anyone to apply to their life.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

I love KJ-52 and Lecrae. They've really taken Chrisitian rap to a new level. If we're talking straight bands though, it's hard to beat P.O.D. or Kutless.I was actually in a Christian band for a few years but then I went off to college. They kept going and recently released a new CD. They're name is Unbroken if anyone wants to check them out.

Tenth Avenue North definitely!!! I also like Matthew West and Michael W. Smith. I like the tunes and lyrics of TAN the most, though. ^^

Simply because I've seen their name come up most often in Mass, I'll say Hillsong. It's not a genre I often listen to though; I listen to individual songs (Jesus Paid It All, Your Grace Is Enough, In The First Light, etc.)

Old School 1980's Degarmo and Key! Of course all their songs sounded the same. Interesting tidbit - Eddie Degarmo's niece won 2nd place on American Idol back in season 3 or 4.

I love Icon For Hire. They're fairly new, their first album, Scripted, came out August of last year on Tooth and Nail.

Slayer, though I'm not sure if they qualify, given that not everyone in the band has the same beliefs (Kerry King is an atheist, for example)Most people who don't know of the band's music think of them as Satanists, but according to Tom Araya, it's more about exploring "the dark side of Christianity".In the end, I don't care either way, since I'm not a theist, atheist, or agnostic. I simply don't care.

Now that i can't completely understand. Music has always been undefinable. Regardless, of where it's from or hows it's portrayed. Tbh. Rock music has been debatable for several years. Whether it's music from the devil himself or purely genuine. Then again, you can't say all rock is the same either. Considering, over the years it's been broken down into smaller categories. For example: punk rock, heavy metal, hard rock, classic rock, speed metal? black metal...ect.

He wasn't referring to rock/metal as a whole, but rather the lyrics to Slayer songs in particular.

Judging a person does not define who they are.
It defines who you are.
