I really enjoyed the movie, enough to buy it anyways. For a low budget film, they did a great job. I like how Napolean's nerdy brother, turns into a gangster by the end of the movie when he meets the girl he met on the internet. And his dancing cracks me up. I do agree that there was some kidna dumb parts, but they were ment to be dumb, it added humor to some scenes.

On the other hand, I don't see what people think is funny about the movie -- except the part where the uncle throws the other guy's steak. That wouldn't have even been funny except that he deliberately threw the other guy's instead of his own.My brother and I were watching it for the first time at a friend's house, and ended up leaving the room in the middle because we decided we'd rather occupy ourselves with trying to learn how to play Pinochle from the little instruction cards that come with the deck. Have you ever tried that? It's impossible. --------------------"Bad videogames can be judged based on lack of passion. I'm always amused how divided opinion is on this movie. People either love it or hate it...i'm in the love category, but I have a hard time trying to explain to my friends why I liked it so much. It's really not supposed to be a laugh out-loud funny kind of movie, so if you want cheesy punchlines and whatnot, then this probably won't be your cup of tea. However, just watching Napoleon and the other characters exagerratedly geeky, silly, and quirky behaviour I found to be amusing to no end. The movie doesn't try to beat you over the head with some lame, superficial "feel-good" message which is refreshing...it simply shows how people deal with life and problems in their own way.

It's a very good movie. Kind of odd, but still good. That dance was super. It must have taken hours to memorize in real life and then show it on camera without any mistakes being made. I love that ending theme. It's one of my favourite songs!

It was an interesting media phenomenon, Napoleon Dynamite. Funny mainly because of the actors, and less so from the jokes. Great movie, but it got a little too much popularity, I think. I watched it in a Philosophy in Film class, and the substitute tried to find meaning in it. That ruined it for me. :/
