I don't see why you wouldn't use the stylus. It's not that difficult to pop the stylus out the side... plus in most touch games it adds accuracy to what you want to point to... right? Or with writing--I'm thinking brain age.

It depends. Sometimes it's better to use the stylus, other times its simply more convenient to use my fingers.

I use the flat part of my index finger's fingernail sometimes when I'm eating and too lazy to get out the stylus, other than that not much, the finger has too much of a touch area for the really sensitive DS.

Pending on the game is deciding on whether I use my finger or not. Pokemon is usually finger. Zelda is a stylus game. But those are my only games so far.

I NEVER use my fingers. I try to keep my DS in the best shape possible so I always use something other than my fingers. Stylus is always the best choice

I only use my fingers on some "stylus-only" games like the Zelda games (Phantom H. and Spririt T.)

I prefer a stylus because it doesn't wreck me screen but on some occasions when I can't find it I'll lightly tap with my fingers.

I only use finger\ finger nail to touch things on a menu or starting up. always use stylus for games that require it. have seen some kids screens that look so scatched up they must use an old pen or a shard of glass.

There are times when its more convenient to use a finger. Say for example, you're playing mostly with the D-pad and buttons, but at certain points you're required to tap the screen. Well, just a little tap? There's no real point in getting the stylus out. Just tap it with my finger, using the fingernail so I don't smudge the screen with my oily skin. And let's face it. Skin is oily and you'll leave a fingerprint, so the nail is better. Now, there was a certain game where it was much easier to use the fingers. That was Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy where there was a section where you had to tap one foot icon and then the other in quick succession to make Edward Elric run. You could have done it with a stylus, but it was far easier and less frustrating to just lay the DS down and tap away with both fingers. So, it all really depends on the situation. But I never touch my skin against the screen.

As most people have said, it really depends on the circumstance, but I would rather be more precise with the stylus in most cases though. Some games really require a stylus, like LoZ: Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks, and my DS touchscreen is already receiving some damage from back when I used to use my fingers! :P

DS screen is a touch screen, not a heat sensitive screen. If you use your fingers you will need to push down harder, which might make the screen crack and/or implode.
