SNES was probably the best in terms of the best games it produced. FFVI was amazing, Mario Kart, Harvest Moon, Legend of Zelda - A link to the Past-, Super Mario World, the list goes on. In terms of more recent systems, definitely the DS. It really turned things around for them, and even though they've always been top when it comes to the handheld market, it really helped push them in the right direction with the Wii.

I'd also vote for the SNES, not only did it have and still has some of the best games ever in their genre:Super MetroidZeldaFinal Fantasy 4&6But a few games such as Chrono Trigger, remain unsurpassed to this day. I'd even go so far as to argue that the RPG genre has yet to have a game that even EQUALS that masterpiece since.I know the new school Final Fantasy fans would argue that their Final Fantasy 7s 8s or whatever are superior, but I'm old school all the way. I can't stand the newer Final Fantasy games with their catwalk model characters and metrosexual male heros. Dragon Quest has had some notable entries, 7 was so massive it hurts and 8 was fantastic with the US version even better than the original Japanese, but overall the RPG genre caught on in the US after it had already reached its peak and the massive flood of subpar and redundant RPG games have bored me to tears. I can hardly even remember the last time a new Japanese style RPG caught my interest enough to make me want to play all the way through it. Final Fantasy is the new Mega Man. I suppose that since I'm older now, I can't really afford the time. BUT, when a new Zelda game comes out, I am still able to fit it in my schedule, so I think the genre really has suffered whereas Mario and Zelda (mostly) continue to improve with each iteration and every one released earns a permanent place in my library.

OH no doubt Its SNES. Great game selection. Good music. Epic games (Final fantasy, Secret of Mana and 7th Saga to name a few) It was fun and child safe. I really loved it. I hate that I got rid of mine. Fortunetly I had a friend that game me 2 of them! HA! Now I just have to recollect some of the games. Mostly I like the squaresoft games though. And I miss passing a game around with friends and comparing scores and how far along we were in games. I guess for me that why I get roms. To remember what it was like when I was a teenager.

I would say the NDS right now I'm really enjoying the mp3 player and movie player function it's video quality is amazing. It's like spending 129.99 for a multiplayer multi-handheld console that has multi media functions supporting up to 8 g/bs (as of right now). There is also a fully functional NES emulator I do believe.

If we're not talking about graphics or processing power, but in terms of its effect to the gaming masses. Then I would have to say the Original NES or the Family Computer as it is know here in Asia. It brought arcade quality gaming to your home. I still remember the first time I saw Super Mario Brothers running on a TV. Man, that was classic!!

WII. © and no less. it can play vertual console games, (n64, SNES, SEGA, NEOGEO, list goes on) GC games and (duh) Wii games, along with whatever you can find on the internet channel. plus making Mii's is always fun as well. Yes, I am a proud owner, but that is off topic...I like the photo channel most of all because you get to uplosd your own photo's and then draw on them. :D Of course nothing surpassing the disk channel. ;D

N64 (because it was awesomely fun) and NDS (same reason). I've never played Wii, but if I did, I'd probably list it here too.

SNES all the way. It has the best spectrum of games.... rpgs, racers, platformers, brawlers. You name it, its there. The N64 has a lot of "classic" games, but I dont think you can evenly compare their libraries.
