I think there is probably a correlation but it's not a causal relationship.

I think that people who game aren't more likely to be virgins, but people who game EXCESSIVELY are. It's just because they don't get out and meet people enough!

well in comparison to other geeks like comic book geeks, computer etc. We have a better chance of getting laid as there as gaming can be a social experience, unlike other geeky pursuits. All fat gamer chicks are frickin easy. Ugly but easy.

Ok most people seem to be looking at this from the wrong direction. The question is are gamers more likely to be virgins than people who aren't gamers. Even if you throw out the fact that most gamers are younger and therefore that tendency will skew the results against gamers, you have to concider that while most gamers aren't the obsessed, live in their parents basement till 60 people the fact that there are more gamers liveing in their parents basement till 60 and staying virgins than there are non-gamers who live in their parents basement till 60 and stay virgins so that would make gamers slightly more likely to be virgins.

It's a stereotype and it's not all false. Gamers have more tendency to be virgins is the following is true:1- Don't wash themselves2- Play so much games they stay inside during summer3- Only social skills are on a forum, try talking to a girl the way kids yell on the forumsBasically the more closed up, stinky, virtually living you are the more chances your a virgin. But then that could also apply to other people.

I personally think that it's nerds who can't get friends are more likely to be gamers.Gamers themselves are safe, unless they turned to games because they didn't do anything else.Kinda a leftover stereotype from when video games were new and only nerds played all the time (they had nothing better to do!)

Well, the overall gamer community, yes, mainly due to the kid gamers.Gamers of the age people normally start having sex, no, since gamer =/= nerd. Nerds are the "stay in parents' basement till 60" kind. Even avid gamers can have a social life, a girl/boy(?)friend, sex, and eventually a family (trust me, it actually does happen).Sorry for doubleposting, but I don't think this topic goes in this specific part of the board. Maybe General Discussion or something of the sort.

Well it depends. If you are a casual gamer, then I don't think it has anything to do with games. If you are a hardcore gamer then chances are that has something to do with it. Being a geek tends to lower your chances of getting laid.

What we can take a part of is that there is a different trend with 'modern gaming' where as back in the wild wild west the only folk to pick up a gaming consol were kids with lower social lives or the kids who don't connect well. Where in todays modern flow anyone from you great aunt gertrude could pick up a controller and swing away at her destiny. The stereotype of the gamer virgin has been tossed out the window and brought in the casual gamer fascade where its not really symbolized by one specific brand of oatmeal. With games being so wide and popular you can't even point fingers at RPGs and say that there's where the virgins lie because even your dad plays WoW occasionally. So I don't think there is a relation to virginity and video games much like alcohol and violence there are always connections, but seriously it's all in vein.

yea, kids who play games can entertain themselves and don't look to friends for company --> less friends --> less parties --> less drunk girls --> less sex

It's mainly just a stereotyping thing isn't it? Not everybody who plays games doesn't get laid >.<

I think it was more of a nerdy thing in the 80s and 90s to play games, but now everyone does it. So in the past there was probably a link between being a gamer and a virgin, but it isn't as big a problem now.
