I think that FF7 is the best... but other FF's have a few things that make them awesome.

yea ff7 was the best but u shouldnt count out the later versions like ff10 for example was a very good ff as well

I agree that VII's one of the top games, but I enjoyed IX and XII a lot! Even X wasn't so bad if you consider when it was released in the PS2's lifespan. Still, I love the franchise and Square-Enix's other work! (Radiata Stories must be played by all!)

The series didn't start taking hits after FFVII. The downturn began the moment FFV hit the shelves.

ff8 was soso, ff9 was similar, ff10 was far too short, x2 was.. dodgy. 11 was an mmorpg, nuff said, 12 is okay, no random encounters! hooray!

7 and 8 were the worst of the series. 9 wasn't far behind. If 5 and 6 were remade with graphics like 13, they'de be absolutely incredible. 9 was interesting because it took the job's idea of 5 along with 10-2. Either way, after FF6, the series went down until FFX resurrected it.

Well i guess each FF has its own charm. FF6 went out on the old console system with a bang, FF7 redefined the rpg genre with its graphics and overall feel, and ff10 tried to make it cool in the ps2.Though i think ff9 is my least favourite out of the lot.

I'm waiting for the chance to meet the FF devs to 'convince' them to redo FF6 for the PS2 with awesome graphics. Or PS3 when I get one

Hmm... Final Fantasy games are good only depending on what type of games you like playing.And... Final Fantasy 8 and 10 were pretty decent to my opinion... sure it was nothing on Final Fantasy 7, but you really can't make games like that every day, can you?

FF7 was indeed the best (because it was the breakthrough game of the series of them really).I enjoyed FF9 as well (not many people seem to rate it though).

ff 6 is decent, ff 7 is very good, ff 8 is pretty good, ff 9 is average, ff10 was a bit short, ff11 is made for online play, ff 12 is great

Final Fantasy 7 was i believe the best game ever and after it the storylines of games have suffered. Nay i have to say i still have faith in square and with the entrance of FFXIII and Final Fanstay vs XIII we could see solmething amazing.

Every FF has its own appeals diff battle systems, magic systems and storyline. It all depends what you like.

I disagree. Between 4 and 6 set precedence in JRPG storyline somewhat. They were great. FFVII established the series well on a new generation of console but didn't set new precedence in storytelling standard. FFVIII set new visual standard in JRPG which was outdone by FFIX. FFIX didn't disappoint as tribute of the series while FFVIII propelled the FF series to it's current presentation and style. FFX disappointingly made the series more linear than ever though brought the series graphical standard to the new generation well. FFX-2 almost destroyed my faith in the series. FFXI took the series MMORPG to disapointment of single player FF fans but it gained respect amongst MMORPGamer. FFCC didn't see well in eyes of many conventional JRPG fans. FFXII IMO brought the series back to quality and propelling the series in the right direction.So from that IMO the series rose since FFIV and peaked at FFIX and declined only to set new standard with FFXII.
