Gallium was discovered by the french chemist Lecoq de Boisbaudran, who named the element after his native land (or after himself maybe?).Gallia was the Latin name given to the region where Frenchs later stablished their territory.

Hmmmm ok i know John Newlands and then revised by Dmitri Mandeleev. know there as been some slight changes but im not sure of anyone that has made any serious changes lately
