Suikoden IV is the only one I've played. I loathed traveling from place to place but I thought the story was really cute. The only problem though...The main character is TOO cute. I was too busy squeeing over his silent angst and how he reminded me of a brunette Rudy (Wild ARMs) to get very involved in the game.

Suikoden iv is so-so but the random encounters are getting on my nerves, Suikoden V is way better than 3 and 4.

I agree too, the battle system very different with other suikoden only 4 character in party. But I don't agree about the map, you know Suikoden IV have a nation, island nation, is like in my country, many island is more then 14.000 in my country.

the plot will always be similar since it revolves around the scenario of having to harness the power of the stars of destiny

It's alright, not that great for a Suikoden game, but good for an RPG in general.

I'm a fan of every single Suikoden series, including IV XD I agree this one has a different field and fighting style. It sucks to only can bring 4 people with us, usually Suikoden allow us to bring 6 people. The characters in 108 stars are not very charateristic, unlike the most Suikoden before. But I like the way they voiced every important dialogue and the movie scene, makes them rather alive XD

I love Suikoden IV. I'm not going to call it a great game, 'cause I pretty much have the same problems everyone else has with the game: cumbersome ship travel, smaller party, Lazlo's running, his bowl cut, etc. XDI can say that it is a good game that I can play every now and then, though. =3

Suikoden 4 was a dissappointment for me. Suikoden 3 was kinda enjoyable, so I was expecting a better package in Suikoden 4. Sadly that was not the case. The story was rushed, the character uninteresting, and the main character had the worst clothes in video gaming history :o

I'm not sure whether or not I want to play it...I'm a great fan of the first 2 Suikoden games (especially the 2nd), but when I played the third one... ugh. I don't know, it was annoying and cheesy. So I'm not that interested in trying out the 4th one...
