HD-DVD died along time ago, Blu-Ray won, the only question now is Bluray going to keep its self a live, it has no competition, but it now has to worry about if it can reach consumers. I think it will survive, because as people move up to HD-TVs, and such, their going to want better quality stuff, and Bluray is awesome quality.

It would appear that Blue-ray's are the new DVDs of the century, hopefully the only new ones for a while.

well it really depends on the usage of it. most people will not use blue ray so they can pause their game and watch it somewhere else with family. Then go right back into the action.

The new question should be would blu-ray survive against downloads. If you look at the industry right now, download the next new thing. With gas prices going up, people are going to be less inclined to shop or go out. Movie downloads such as Vudu, Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon, xbox marketplace, appletv, sony movie download are coming. A blu-ray normally sales for around $30 so if downloads are placed at $10-$20, and people can get fast enough downloads, then they'll be more inclined to go that route.

The way it looks now I would say no blu-ray is DOOMED!.Then again its still quite early to say .If you looked back people said DVD was going to fail also but it owned everything.

Blu-Ray has the tools to survive. Most people are releasing their shows and movies in both formats now, so they're providing Blu-Ray with a chance. People just have to willing to buy into Blu-Ray.

yes because HD-DVD already lost.

Or they will illegally download it with torrents
