The answere depends on what movie and how the game is made. the last pirets of the carabian game i played was crap. liked the movie but the game wasnt good. i cant think of any games ive played based on movies other than that because im more of an rpg player.

making such games is dedicated to the fans of that particular...and sometimes it isnt as impressive as the game than the movie itself...

Some games based on movies are good, most are crap... im not trying to pick on any games or movies in particular, but the Matrix made a good game with Enter the Matrix, though it wasn't as closely based on the movies, then they made The Path of Neo.... that game just over did it trying to be exactly like the movie... Lord of the Rings did okay with its earlier games, but gameplay was the good part of those (some), the main reason I think movie based games are not very good, is because they ofter lack funding, either they are made during the movie and are limited or after and are not given enoughtime and effort in an attempt to get them out ASAP while they are popular....

many games based on movies are not as good as you may think, but there are exceptions like the godfather.

I would say on the contrary, these games usually suck in my opinion.Think of SpiderMan 2 for PS2. Now think of Ultimate Spider-Man. One can easily notice my point. ; )
