once upon a time, i had a golden sun 2 save file.i had played 200 hours on iti had lv 99 isaac, 99 garet, 99 ivan, 99 mia, and lv 69-71 felix jenna sheba and piersmy sister, who was about 8 years old like the game so i gave her a save file on which she could play on.when i used the password to transfer the save from golden sun1 to golden sun2, after i transfered the password onto my sisters save i automatically started playing that save. just then my piano teacher drove up (i used to play piano, play guitar now).seeing how i had played the game 200hours i could remember everything off by heart and did not look at where i saved.NORMALLY, when you start a golden sun2 save if you save the game the cursor automatically goes to the file which you loaded from.now my sisters save file was slot 3.my save file was slot 1.for some reason, after i transfered the save game from golden sun1 the cursor went to the first slot and i accidentally wrote over my 200 hours EXTREMELY PRO golden sun2 file.i died after i saw.....to all you golden sun2 players...DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ever since this happend, i never played my golden sun2 again, i just leave it, i know it sounds sad but thats what i did!!! (somehow it became part of my life, i remember how i finished the game in 3 days once)DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU

Well... not sure if mine is counted... but mine is a PC game rather than a handheld?hmmm... what happened was quite dumb...Theres this chinese game 新絕代雙驕3 and i was playing it half way through, close to the ending part...and then i got this ultra rare item in the game and used it to create a special elixirafter that, i realised that apparantly theres another item that require this item to create it,and its a event item required to continue the game!furthermore, this item is a ONE-OF-A-KIND in the whole game! so i was literally stuck without being able to continue the game...i guess thats the worst experience i had so far? >"<

The worst that has happened to me was in Tomb Raider. I was already pretty advanced in the game when Lara fell into a trap and I didn't realise it. I though it was ok. and so I saved the game. Afterwards, when I noticed my mistake, I got seriously pissed of, more towards myself than the game itself... It's also terrible when I'm in some advanced level, haven't saved it yet, and the game suddenly crashes - that has happenned to me in many games already.

Me and my brother had a file on Pokemon Yellow. We had caught all of the pokemon, and levelled up most of them to around 99.And then I overwrit it to start a new game.OK, maybe thats not the worst for me, but my brother was pretty pissed. But I mean, it was lying around for like 2 years, and we hadn't even touched it,I might as well have. I've caught all the pokemon again anyway : D

The worst thing?! It's either my sister lost my stylus for my DS 3 times, she lost my memory card, or I beat a whole game and there was a 2 second black out, and I never saved dammit.

Lol a similar thing happened to me on final fantasy now I have 2 copies of my data one underneath the other then I have a spare a few pages past which I use at milestones and if I'm realy far and terrified to lose my data I just save it on another memory card as the loss is a little too hard to bare. Pokemon (gameboys) are terrible for that too
