Incorrect. Ragnarok WILL still happen, according to the Mythology. When Heimdall (Guardian of the Bifrost Bridge and "Protector" of the gods) blows his horn and signals the end, ALL the gods go to fight in Ragnarok, and basically everyone dies. Odin is eaten by Fenrir, Loki fights Heimdall and is bested in battle, but Heimdall is thought to die shortly after due to wounds sustained during battle and in the end, Surtur rains his fire across the world destroying and killing all except those hidden in the sacred forest where Yggdrasil (The World Tree) and restarting the cycle of the time.Now, as for the Spear, it's called, and this may not exact because of the multiple spellings I've seen and read, Gungir. His powerful spear that never misses. He used it to hang himself from the world tree (Yggdrasil) while he pulled up the runes. In order to go do that in the first place though, he had to sacrifice something, and that's how he lost his eye. He sacrificed it for knowledge. Him knowing everything, that's not fully true, but a lot of people believe it to be, which is why he's commonly referred to as the "All Father"Odin! The one who prevents the Ragnarok from raining upon us. He knows everything and has one eye and is a beast with a spear apparently.
First off, TECHNICALLY Fenrir wasn't a hero. He was was actually quite the villain, for it's him who brings about Odin's death. Also, the only reason he was able to bite off Tyr's hand is because Tyr WILLINGLY put it in his mouth. That actually ties in with the no chains binding thing too. You see, the Dwarves (or whoever were said to cast the ribbons that DID bind him) made the only thing that could bind him, but the only way that Fenrir would allow himself to be bound down was if Tyr stuck his hand in his mouth. When Fenrir realized he'd be unable to break what was binding him down, he bit off Tyr's hand. The only reason he was able to break free of those bindings later on is because Loki releases him to ally with him during Ragnarok.Now, onto my answer: I'd have say Heimdall, of the Norse Mythology. He's the Guardian of the BiFrost bridge. He can hear the grass grow, see to the end of time, and he alone knows when Ragnarok will fall upon us. He's the one who blows the horn to call all the gods out to die, and joins into the fray himself. He kills Loki, but due to his wounds from the battle, he dies shortly after. He's supposed to be one of the last gods destined to die at Ragnarok.(Please excuse any misspellings or minor errors in this reply, I haven't slept for the past two days due to MUDs and programming)have to go with the giant wolf Fenris.i mean he chomped off the hand of the greatest swords man.no chains binded him forever.and he came after Odin in the Ragnarok. :}

from Journey to the west?Anyway, I think that my favourite hero in Mythology is either Ragnar Lodbrok or Anansi.Doesn't have to stick with greek/roman myths... right?
; If that's right then... uhhh... Sun Wukong the Monkey King. XDI don't have a particular favorite in greek myth though. ._.;
