I use walkthroughs as well when I'm stuck in a game. I always make sure I only use the walkthrough when I absolutely need it and a refrain from looking to the back of the walkthrough. To me a spoiled game plot is the same as a spoiled book, no-one likes it.

I think it depends on how you use the walkthroughs. If you use it for the whole game, then yeah, I'd say that's cheating. You let someone else do ALL the thinking for you. But if you just use it here and there when you're REALLY stuck, I think that's fine. When I was stuck on Phoenix Wright for DAYS in one spot, I finally decided screw it, I'll use a walkthrough to figure out wtf I'm supposed to do at this one part. But I only used it for that one part, and didn't read any further.

I don't consider it cheating, its just like using hints or tips. I find that walkthroughs take the joy out of figuring everything out for yourself, but there are the odd occassion where I find myself completely stuck and clueless and just need that one little chedk of a walkthrough to get me back on my way.But seriously, walkthroughs aren't cheating, its just a joy killer.

well it is slightly cheating but if you walk through a bloody dungeon taking over two hours and you tried really hard getting out I think you should just grab a walkthrough or something(In some games dungeons don't have maps) cause you're stuck

While I don't necessarily think walkthroughs are cheating, I also don't think one should use it through the game in its entirety, either. At least, not on a first run. Only when you're stuck somewhere.

I have moments where I'm a pretty busy guy with work and school. So I don't see them as cheating. If I am genuinely stuck I will always turn to one. I like to enjoy my spare time, and some of the puzzles in RPGs are just stupid and annoying. (A tower from Digital Devil Saga comes to mind). Or games that need passcodes for extra things, like the vault in FF7. Sometimes I havent played a game in so long that I use it to figure out where I was going to.

I wouldn't consider walkthroughs cheating, as long as you don't use it to play through the whole game. I never use cheats, but I have referenced walkthroughs only at times when I'm hoplessly stuck in a game.

I don't think it is cheating, it is some kind of help to get pass stuff. I use it when I have no clue what is next. I wouldn't spend hrs to just find out where I am stuck. It is sort of stupid.

if you get stuck in real life there is no walkthrough to help so they are a form of cheating

It's not cheating it's just there to help you whenever you can. I personally use them only after i'm done with a certain game and need help locating items. It's not considered cheating just a little help when your stuck now infinite ammo or lives and certain things like that would be cheating.

I ALWAYS use walkthroughs when gaming. I wouldn't cheating that much, compared to cheat codes.

Eh, I've used my fair share of walkthroughs, but I've always felt ashamed of myself for doing so. So according to my video game conscious, yes walkthroughs are cheating

I like to use them if I'm replaying something, so then I'll get everything 100%.

I believe it is a form of cheating, but I do it anyway when I am frustratingly stuck somewhere.

Not particularly. Unless it's a puzzle game, because you'd be, yanno, defeating the whole purpose.

This in no way is cheating. you need help on a certain game because what happens is the game starts out easy. then later asks you to go do twelve steps, run in a circle, jump off the ledge, press the button fast enough, then go in the door two paces left, hard right? well thats what faqs are for

I only use them if I am stuck and have been for awhile. Or if i've beaten a game and want to get the rest of my achievments. I think it is alittle bit like cheating if you use one through the whole game.

If you use it when your completely stuck and you have absolutely no idea where to go then its perfectly fine. If you use it because you don't wanna try, then its still not really cheating, your just super lazy.

Using walkthroughs don't make you a cheater. It can help you get past the difficult parts of games and it is no different that asking a friend how they got through it. Cheating is having infinite lives, health, ammo, money, experience and things like that.

It depends on the type of game. In some games, you need some extra tips, especially those times when you can't remember where your suppose to go next, and the NPC that told you the clue about where your suppose to go, doesn't have the same dialogue anymore.
