I dont think its cheating, i use them whenever I get stuck.Cheating to me is somehow altering the game, like getting inf ammo and lives, or hacking the game.

No. Actually, in some games you feel the developers are cheating you. Silent Hill 3 and Psycho Mantis are definitely games we looked up.

I use a lot of walkthroughs, especially when i'm stuck. Do you think that this is wrong? Is it cheating just like using a cheat code?

I dont think it is cheating if you are really stuck in a game.I do think it spoils the game though cos its so easy to have one more look

I don't think it's cheating at all. If anything, it just takes away from the fun of trial and error. But then again, most people only use FAQ when they're stuck. I just don't get why some people follow the guide as soon as they get the game. Unless they wanna make sure they get every single thing you can from that stage. But yeah, it's not like havin infinite lives, so it's not really cheating. It's more of a convenience because back in the day, if you were stuck, tough cookies, you had to deal with it XD

Is the cat in the box alive or dead?

If you open the box, you will know the answer.

You will know the truth.

However, until you open the box, you can claim that the cat is alive, and you can also claim it is dead.

if you are using them to help continue on in the game or after you won, to see what you missed, then no, but to follow them as you play or something then yes definintely.

I don't think it's cheating, alot of times I'll go on a website where people are asking for help for a certein part of a game and I can't understand why hey can't fgure it out. But then I get to a part that I can't get past and I have to look it up myself and after I realize that it as actually really easy and I just asn't looking at the situation the right way.

I don't believe it's cheating. You're not doing anything that wouldn't be possible without the aid of the walkthrough, unlike some actual cheat codes.

I don't think it's cheating. Games usually aren't very entertaining when you've been stuck on the same part of the game for 2 weeks because you accidentally skipped the part telling you what your objective was. That's where walkthroughs come in. Using walkthroughs for the whole game kind of makes the game pointless though.

No. Especially not for stupidly hard and intense games like Golden Sun. That game can be almost impossible without a walkthrough at times.

I use them when I'm stuck for a very long time. I think they're not cheating, but just a little help you can use when the game's too hard

yea i consider walkthroughs not cheating when you just use it for one part, but if you use it throughout the game, its cheating

Walkthroughs aren't really cheating. It's just people from other parts of the world giving you advice to pass a certain section in a game. Consider the walkthrough writer as a friend who gives you advice. You would have to use it when you're stuck in a certain part. But you shouldn't use them all the time, or it'll take the fun out of the game.

If you use it as a reference or just to get through a part you can't do on your own, it wouldn't be considered cheating.

It depends how people see it, in a way i dont think its cheating cause basically its helping you get through the game only easier but i think walkthroughs take the fun away from a game, since your reading what comes up and takes away the sense of adventure. I honestly dont use walkthrough cause it makes the game boring for me

I think it is cheating if you use it all through out the game. I mean, why did you even play it if you're going to be dependent on those stuff and not enjoy the thrill of discovering how the game should progress.

Only time I use a walkthrough is if I get stuck or when I'm done the game and I missed some things. Its more fun without imo. People probably use walkthroughs if they just want to finish the game without wasting a lot of time.

No, using a walkthrough is not cheating, as long as you only use the part of the walkthrough that walks you through the part of the game that you're stuck on. But if you have a strategy guide open on your lap while playing a game, that's a whole different story. At least, that's my personal opinion as a hardcore gamer.

I generally like to think of it like writing a college paper. I need to look up sources in order to get parts of it written.. so if I gotta hop on gamefaqs really fast or google a question on what I need after being stuck some place for 20mins+ I don't consider it cheating.

I think its cheating, unlike a college paper, when a video game is played, its intended that you can finish it with your own skill or luck or whatever. On a college paper, if you don't cite sources, you fail the paper and/or get accused of plagiarism..
